Tiny Shrooms

A few days ago I was playing in the yard with my kids and while rescuing a ball from the branches of a tree I happened to see these tiny white mushrooms all over it. I love mushrooms for some reason, so they made me happy and I took a few photos with my phone. The next day I went out with my "real" camera and all the tiny white mushrooms had shriveled up and died. I'm happy I saw them. Have you found any happy surprises on your own home turf lately?

Those are so cute. Like a mini fairy city.

I think something horrible happened to the faeries. Their city melted.

@nonersays That's pretty sad. Hopefully they had time to evacuate.

Is that the trunk of a palm tree? I've never seen little white mushrooms like that. Pretty cool!

That is the trunk of a palm tree. I couldn't tell you what kind of palm though.

@nonersays What part of the US do you live in? It looks like it could be a sabal palm, although it's hard to tell from just looking at the trunk.

@moffittjc Too short for that. And the trunk is not smooth at all. I live in Savannah GA. The tree came with with house.

I like cardinals. We have a lot around here. My MIL saw a bird on her feeder and said, "is that a robin" I said, Nope, it's a lady cardinal. They are not as pretty as the boys.

@nonersays we get to see a few each year. Not as many as I did in Indiana. But we see more than I thought we would down here.
