Looks like people will opt for self lockdown even if government decides to lift it after 14th April.

Looking at the present scenario of coronavirus pandemic in our country and elsewhere, It does not look likely that the lockdown would be lifted on 14th of April. Government of India is firm on not continuing the lockdown beyond stipulated date. looking at the way infected cases are increasing everyday we are far away from peak and unless there is marked decrease in infected cases, it will not be wise to lift the lockdown. Even if government decides to lift it, I don't think many will rejoin their duties. I run a small business which requires interaction with lots of people the whole day. It would be risky to start this type of business looking at the present scenario. What are your views on this?

I'm quite paranoid, and yes I think I need to stay indoor for another week even if the quarantine is lifted.

@Mamerto32 You are right. The results shown are not conducive to lifting of lockdown by the due date.

@msdivkar with some cases going without symptoms, I think the government should not lift the quarantine this early. Not without any sensible mass testing.

I'm waiting to see what will happen after the 24th of April here. I don't see it lifted either. Especially since schools are canceled to the end of the year and all studies are online.

That is true. What government worried about is the stalled business activity. Particularly in respect of casual labour. They are hand to mouth people and their means of earnings have closed altogether. Government i taking care of lot of such people at the moment.

I think that it would be very unwise to slack up on this.

@msdivkar Government needs some time to arrange separate hospitals, beds, masks, ventilators, train doctors/nurses, finance, isolation wards, medicines, etc., Lockdown is giving government some time to do that. After the Lockdown, we can expect massive raise in number of cases. don’t come out of the house after April 14. Lockdown is just the trailer. After Aprril 14, real picture will come out. Actually the logic is , you cannot kill a virus.

It will be much the same here. Even if bars and restaurants are allowed to fully reopen, it is going to take people a while to feel personally comfortable getting out and about.

I have a strong feeling that the lockdown might be further extended till the end of the month. The government might take a call at the end of 14th April. Maybe a partial lockdown will go for few months.
