How do you feel about the virus protestors?

I feel their frustration, and it is a tough situation for all, but what they don't seem to understand while they are gathering in groups and not practicing social distancing,,they are putting everyone at risk. Our situation here in my state has the most extreme actions of any state government, as far as I know, so it is very difficult, but the medical experts have told us time and again, that if things open too soon, it will just prolong the virus..and lockdowns will continue. It is awful, and the economy may go down in flames..but are we really prepared to have almost everyone in the country affected? I think we should have some sort of plan to loosen restraints gradually, and see what happens..You can't just go from zero to having everything the same..Testing really needs to catch up. Numbers of infected continue to increase here and probably will for awhile. Nothing is going to change here at least while that is happening.

I think they are ignorant. I feel their pain, but as you said we can't go from 0 back to 60 or we'll see a spike in cases and in deaths. What we REALLY need is someone to hogtie Trump during the daily briefings so he can't participate.

I think encouraging the demonstrating and going against the words of his own experts..is absurd and typical Trump.

@snowy22315 I didn't watch any of the briefing last night, I never do anymore. However, I was told that he basically rambled for two hours.

If they want to protest they can call the Governor's office..They don't need to be out in public infecting everyone!

I agree with you. The longer they don`t follow social distancing the longer the lockdowns will take and more people will have the sickness

It saddens me that they are putting themselves and others at risk. Our beaches opened at 8 am today. Which was not a good thing. They didn’t even wait and the beaches were full of people not following guidelines or social distancing over the weekend.

I think they need to stay home and not spread anything around. I'm sorry it's affecting them badly, but a lot of people are suffering, and many are dying. On top of that, the longer they act out, the longer we're all gonna stay in lockdown.

@tammys85 If they want to protest they can do it from home by calling legislators or drive around the capital with signs honking their horn.

Yeah I know. I do think they are being stupid with the protesting. I rather be healthy then getting sick with this virus, Yes, I would love to be able to see my fiance again and go to the movies with him. And even go to church and play my clarinet. But I also hate getting sick.

I can't believe that some people there think it's all a big scam or not important or something. I can't imagine what will happen if people don't take precautions. The trouble is that those who do take care will be compromised by all the idiots.

Yes, maybe they need to start passing some fines out. They are going against the state mandates by doing this.

Yes, if they aren't they should be fined at a minimum. I won't lie, protesting is something I feel like doing, but it is foolish, risky and isn't going to change anything but exposing yourself to the virus.

let's admit it, the media and other politicians are downplaying the virus. They were comparing it regular flu and heart attack. That's why some people think it's really not that serious

Personally, I'm not surprised in the least. The last sentence of your post; 'Nothing is going to change...'. There's something else that is not going to change - some people. No matter what's going on, there are always going to be those who believe that everything is Hakuna Matata. Oh well. Stupid is as stupid does.

The truth is this is a virus and eventually pretty much everyone will be infected. The lockdowns are not about preventing that. The lockdowns are only meant to slow its progress so hospitals don't get overwhelmed. Speaking to that portion of our current problems I totally agree with you. On the other hand, we can not let our entire economy tank. The federal government simply can not make the decisions for everyone as we all have the right to decide for ourselves and our first line of action should be through our local and state governments. Speaking to this portion I totally agree with the protestors. No one is 100% 'right' here. What's the point of being virus free and healthy if I am starving alone in need of things I can't get? Truth - Of those who get the virus - Most will not even know and have no symptoms. Of those with symptoms most will recover quite nicely. Of the rest - a tiny proportion of the population - With severe symptoms most will recover with lingering health issues. Some will die. It's sad but it is a fact of life. So in all honesty I can not fault anyone for how they feel or how they approach this situation. In general I don't like protestors but without them we would still be lost in the 1600s. A very very backwards time.

@snowy22315 I believe those that do protest about the virus do not take it seriously and do not care. I would say they do not know what this virus can do to a person and how they will feel when they have it. I have heard about how someone can feel. I hate those that cause me more grief and ruin it for those that do follow rules and do not want to get sick.
