In the picture is an electronic gadget that is plugged to an electric socket. It emits a buzzing sound that is claimed to drive away insects and rodents. That means no more mosquitoes, flies cockroaches and even mice. So many have been scammed already so check before you buy.

I wonder why the online stores are allowed to sell that kind of product.

@RubyHawk they don't work. At least on the one I tested and on the units that my friends and relatives have bought.

@RubyHawk maybe I can but why bother? It is not my duty to do that because I know that the authorities know that too and they don't even lift a finger. That product was here since 1980.

These don't seem to work very well. I think the insects have now become immune to these techniques and evolved into a stronger version already haha

@Miracle_Maya there ought to be a law on scammers. There is a product called Gloxi that claims to make you tall regardless of age. Isn't that obviously a scam? That is sold in home shopping tv.

You're right. There is absolutely no evidence that these things work.
A top advertising award went this year to a campaign in which a radio station broadcast ultrasound to repel mosquitoes. A nice idea, but does it work?

@LadyDuck in my parents' house the mosquitoes seem to be inhabiting the corner of the living room. That's where I placed the gadget to test. The mosquitoes were not intimidated.

I downloaded an app on my mobile phone once that claimed to be an electronic mosquito repellant. I don't think it worked at all, but at least I didn't pay anything to install the app on my phone.

We had something that looked a bit similar but the insects would come to the light and get zapped by an electrical current.

That is different. We also have the blue light that attracts flying insects so they get zapped. This is one a repellent.

I never buy any of that kind of thing once I read about one on a packet and I thought to myself you know what you can do with that it had I don´t know what in it that was not very good at all. Mosquitoes quite hate tea tree oil. Not saying that it keeps them away altogether but they do keep their distance.
