My first trip to Singapore

Let me share the picture before I left home for the airport. That was my first trip to Singapore for a one-week seminar. It was kind of a rush trip that I got my plane ticket a day before the flight. But everything turned out fine in the hotel and in the seminar as well.
PS. I got the picture when I am backing up my archive disk.

The seminar was from 8:30 am to 5:30 pm everyday so the only free time was at night.

@Hannihar I arrived in the hotel in the late afternoon. I had dinner and then retired early. On the next morning we were picked up by the shuttle to be brought to the seminar venue.

The participants are representatives of Asian countries. The seminar is in English but many could not understand especially the Vietnamese and Cambodians.

@moffittjc the seminar is actually on how to use a software. Can you imagine the non-English speaker? Not to brag but it seems that me and my colleague are the only one good in English, all the other participants use sign language. As for the question why they are there? The seminar is free including everything.

@Alexandoy That is very interesting. I wonder how the non-English speaking attendees were able to benefit from being there if they could not follow along with what was going on.

@Alexandoy I too had visited Singapore in 2011 February. A very neat and clean country where any rules not followed will lead to a fine.
Smoking and spitting are totally banned in public places. Fines are very high. I found it difficult to find a vegetarian meal. Luckily I stayed in little India where south Indian hotels are available.

Thank you for the compliments on my jacket. After my first trip to Singapore we were going there every year. It is a very nice place in Asia that can be comparable to Japan.

On my first time it was all seminar. When I came back with my wife on the following year, it was truly enjoyable. Singapore is one of the best places in Asia.

Were you given sometime after the one-week seminar, say the last day, to go around at least within the area to enjoy a little? or was it just pure business no pleasure? hehe

No time for our personal endeavor. I arrived in the late afternoon of a Sunday. The seminar was Monday to Friday from 8:30 am to 5:30 pm. My flight home was Saturday morning.
