I just had a nice visit with my daughter that got married in August.

She stood at the end of my bed. We talked about many things. Her job, how busy she is working, doing dishes, and the major part of the cooking. She loves her insta pot and is glad she no longer has to touch raw chicken when she puts it in frozen. I had to tell her that frozen chicken is still raw but she's fine with frozen not so much with raw. She talked about getting ears pierced for a baby girl if she had one as she always wished I had hers pierced as a baby but her husband would rather give the child it's own choice. We discussed a lot. It was a nice time. Has anyone here pierced their baby girls ears when they were small? I told her to Google the pros and cons. Flowers from a customer's garden.

I pierced my ears when I was young. I don't know why. I think I beg my mom for it. Still have the holes until today despite rarely wear earrings. It's lovely for her to come on visiting you. Both you can her can catch up a lot.

@MarshaMusselman no, only ears. Sorry, I'll edit that. I blame my sleepy eyes (that no way I can pierce)

@prinzcy good. I like that you only pierced your ears.

Did you pierce your eye lids or the eye brow area? You can't piece your eyes.

Unfortunately I don't have a child, but I wanted to comment in your discussion. Glad to hear you got to see your daughter who got married. May she lived happily ever after with her partner.

Being a vegetarian I hate having to touch raw meat but I cook it for my son, husband and stepson. I’m with your husband. I wouldn’t pierce my daughters. I didn’t want to cause her pain. She’s a teen and wants her ears pierced but I don’t want her to until she’s out of school. I went to school with a girl who got both her earrings ripped out and her ear lobes were split. It always scared me.

@MarshaMusselman I had mine done when I was about 4 before I met this girl on the bus at school. She was playing on the playground I believe when they got ripped out. One was from a girl doing a cartwheel or something near her and the lace caught her earring and ripped it out and tore her ear lobe completely in two. I don’t recall how the other one got split but know it was due to a boy classmate the second time with her other lobe.

@shaggin that's awful. I never liked looking at the gals lobes that worked here but thankfully she retired.

I knew someone that has her ear loves split. Her grandkids did that. You can easily keep the little ones from pulling that hard. It's not my husband but my daughter's husband that wasn't the child to have the choice. Did you never get yours done then? Because of that? It's probably quite uncommon for loves to be split for that reason but I don't really know. I'm surprised to hear you've seen it before too.

I would never have done a boys ears. I didn't consider it when my kids were young either but I don't know that it was common yet back then.

glad y'all got to visit, hon. i'd love to do the same with mine, but she lives too far 'way 'n these're troublin' times fer travel. i'm 'f the belief that young'uns ought'a be a certain age 'n make such a choice 'emselves. not all wish to've holes'n their ears outside 'f what they were born with :)

It may also be a case of if you don't have it you want it and if you have it you don't want it. Like straight or curly hair.

My mom had mine pierced as a baby. Then I had a second hole done in high school.

Unfortunately she had to stand because she's a germa phobe and doesn't have her chair here anymore. She came to do laundry. This is the first time I've been home when she's come over.
