How NOT to Lose a Cent in Bitcoin

It's 2021 and I noticed still many are skeptical of Bitcoin or cryptocurrency. I've been using Bitcoin since 2015 and NEVER lose a cent with Bitcoin. Just like any currency our money can be lost if we do not know HOW TO manage it or don't know where to keep it. If you have a dollar and living in the Philippines for example, just keep it and wait until currency exchange rate rise up. Of course only keep a little amount or your extra money. Same with Bitcoin and other crypto currencies. But WHERE to keep Bitcoin safely? Just like our local currency we could keep it in our "wallet" and hold it OURSELVES. Just Google BITCOIN HARDWARE WALLETS and read tutorials and comparisons of various "wallets". I keep small amounts online and never been hacked so far. Maybe hackers knew that my balances are too small (LOL). How could hackers get the amount that is below minimum withdrawal? :-D

I would like to have more online wallets as well. They have their own usefulness.

That's right specially if we have altcoins we have NO CHOICE but to open wallets that support them. And... I always COMPARE the FEES. I used to exchange/buy/withdraw DOGECOIN from Poloniex (to save fees) to Coinpot.co for FREE BTC conversion / transfer to Coins.ph. I used Bittrex when I got free OByte because it was only listed on Bittrex. I used Jaxx when I need immediate peso cash before. Jaxx mobile app is the easiest but not the safest as it can be used without a password. Good for newbies. I used Binance because I had STORM token and only listed there. I have many more online wallets/apps for various altcoins. Xapo...Wirex...Coinbase...Coins.ph... blockchain...are my first Bitcoin wallets. I almost forgot some.

@yoalldudes I spent all my time exploring money making sites/apps and cryptos when I left my offline job. Philippines is no longer supported by Coinbase. When I started with Crypto in 2015 there was an option from Coins.ph to link Coinbase. When I used Wirex they had VISA Debit Cards. When I first collected Bitcoin from MOON Bitcoin Faucet it was automatically credited to Xapo but now you have to create a micro wallet with Coinpot.co. There' s a lot of changes already. So if we read tips and tutorials online...check the date when it was posted.

I will not repeat the mistake of letting my bitcoins be taken by hackers, just take away 2 bitcoins worth from me in 2016.

@AkoPinay It's been a long time, and I keep regretting it. I want to forget about it but I can't, because if it were there now I might already have a new car.

Because of the increase in price of Bitcoin, many sites were affected which also affect our earnings in one way or another. I still keep my bitcoins in some sites to earn interest and some in my wallet. But for now, I think it is much better to focus on dollar paying sites.

I am still rather skeptical of Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies. But you hit on something here that I harp on all the time when I talk to people about the stock markets. Not knowing about something is not a reason not to do it. It's a reason to learn about it. Taking my own advice here, maybe my reluctance to crypto being that I don't know enough about it is not reason to not dig into it more and make an INFORMED decision as to whether or not I want in on it as opposed to just keeping away from doing something I don't fully understand. You never know. You may have changed my thoughts about crypto just a little bit here.

EXACTLY. That's me. I am more interested to LEARN and CHALLENGE or EXPERIENCE it myself to understand fully. "Not knowing about something is not a reason not to do it. It's a reason to learn about it." I first LEARNED and EARNED more than 3 BTC from bitLanders but bitLanders stopped paying.

It's only like an INVISIBLE money that can be converted to FIAT and become visible.
