"yer jest bat poop crazy coz that aint black mold!"

Yepperz, that's what the hubs 'nsists to be fact. Not black mold, jest my o'erly vivid imagination. I found such 'fter my washin' machine decided to fill constantly with water, then dump said water 'nto the floor when least 'xpected. E'en unplugged'n the water shut off. Which 'twas most perplexin', sendin' me to the net to diagnosis 'n find a remedy. Seems the solenoid 'd burnt out. Simple reason fer such - the 'crud' which's been passin' through the water lines'd clogged both filters completely. Easy 'nough fix once I found said part 'n a video showin' how to take said beast 'part. Total cost? With 'xpediated 2 day shippin', $30.60. The hubs wanted to jest buy 'nother washer.... The imaginary mold 'tis from when he "fixed" the hot water line 'bout 8 years 'go. Such 'twas not fixed 'n 'tis been slow leakin' all this time 'tis my thoughts. Come to find out, neither the hot nor cold water lines 'd shut off completely. This I found when I went to disconnect said water from the washer so's I could tackle 'ts repair. 've spent the past week 'r so moppin' icy cold water from the floors. Whilst I fixed the hot water line, the cold 'tis hosed. No parts 'vailable coz this type 'f pipe 'tis not been'n service since the early 90's. Tried to utilize what 'twas 'vailable, but still'd a purty good sized leak'n the cold water line. Too costly to replace said line'n 'd require me goin' 'nder the house. Um, nope! All that'cha see here'n this pic (rotted wood, sheet rock) 'tis gone. I took such out. Will need to figure somethin' with the water line, get sheet rock, mud, tape, primer'n paint once such 'tis completely repaired. The leak 'd slowed to the tiniest 'f weeps, so I figured Sunday 'twas a good time to see if'n I did 'ndeed fix the washer. Yepperz, worked like a charm with a small load. No leaks there, no water pourin' out the bottom. I kept checkin' fer leaks 'fter, thinkin' that the water pressure changes might open the leak'n the main line. Fer 'bout 4 hours such 'twas not so, jest the tiny weep. Went out to tend the horses, scrub water tanks 'n refill. 'twas out fer 'bout'n hour, thinkin' such 'twas safe 'ndoors. The hubs 'ssured me such 'twas so, he'd jest checked. Not fer certain what he checked coz there 'twas a creek comin' out'ta the laundry room yet 'gain. That danged water line from the wall yet 'gain! 'bout 1am-ish such jest magically quit. By this morn the paper towel I'd put 'round such 'twas barely damp'n the top 1". This eve such 'tis bone dry. There'd be more to the story, but figured this 'twas long 'nough. I'm purty convinced that plumbin' ought'a be a 4-letter word. Y'all'd be proud though, I aint lost my temper not once. What'cha'll reckon? Don't that look to be mold to ya 'r 'm I truly bat poop crazy?

sadly 'tis a relief that ya see such to be mold, too. could be why i've struggled with neuro troubles? i so feel fer yer sweet momma, might'a contributed to her troubles, too. but, if'n ya don't know such's there, aint nothin' ya can do 'bout 't, eh? i sure ne'er suspected to find this. the sheet rock'n the laundry room side 'twas soaked, thus the need to removed a chunk. to find this... i masked/gloved/goggled 'n put'n one 'f those paper coverall thingies, hung plastic o'er the doorway 'n took out the rest. figurin' if'n such 'twas disturbed, 'd be air borne.

I will pray that you're able to get this done without any major problems @crazyhorseladycx I had to get help because I couldn't remove the water tank, it would be way too heavy for me and right now I am still healing from an emergency appendectomy that I had back on April 26, due to my age they told me to take it easy for at least 8 to 12 months so I'm not riskin it.

@rebelann thanks, hon. such's much needed. please toss'n more patience, too. i fear i'm losin' such. the towel'n the pipe 'tis slightly damp this morn. gonna need to figure how to fashion a gasket fer that connection. i hear ya'n the help thingy. sadly i cannot 'fford such. yer correct, don't need to go gettin' a hernia from heavy liftin'. e'en the pup'll not hang 'round to render aide, lol.

'tis mold. took care 'f that part. 'nsure 'f the 'xtent 'f the full damage, how far such goes'n the walls 'n wooden sub floor. need to get all leaks fixed proper 'fore i dig 'nto the rest. did make a gasket this 'fternoon that sealed the cold water line. which made the hot water line jealous i reckon coz such started a very wee drip here'n there. shall fashion a bunch now fer all the water lines fore i lose the template i made fer such. then the true fun begins. no doubt much more'll need ripped out'n replaced. sheet rock, mud, tape, primer 'n paint 't the very least. i did find a weak, squishy spot'n the sheet rock 'n the other side 'f the laundry room that needs further investigation. amazin' how such a tiny room can be so much trouble! the washer/dryer'n freezer leave lil space fer movin' schtuff 'round.

Yah, looks like mold to me. I hate plumbing issues. I just call a plumber when I need one but I know you live not so convenient to help. The grandsons did fix my dryer a couple of years ago. I do nothing like that kind of work, not my job code lol

glad i aint lost my mind 'ntirely. i dislike 'em, too. particularly when such's bein' 'gnored by someone. he took out the outdoor shut-off valve?? says such'd a leak close to't, so cut that out, too. what normal person'd do that? now one's to run to mamaw's lil house, shut off the well, drain the pressure tank. a huge waste 'f water. i wish i could 'fford a plumber. 't $250/hour such's jest not possible. 's fer the washer, 'twas easy to fix once i figured the trouble. made no sense how such could do that with no power nor water?? 'f course, when i took off the washer line to the main line, i found that such didn't turn off completely. sprayed icy cold water 'cross the room! ugh... the hot water line'd done the same to the hubs years 'go, so he capped 't. not checkin' the line 'low the box - where such's been leakin' a long time 'hind the wall. 'lways a good day to learn somethin' new :)

@BelleStarr dang 't, one'd think livin' out'n a rural community where most folks're poor services here'd be more reasonable. sadly such aint so. i'd a massive main line leak o'er 't mamaws this past summer. the water lines're 3' deep. i dug such out by hand, but 'd not way to cut the bad part out'n put'n new. the plumbers came, here fer 'bout'n hour 'n a half. they used a sump pump to remove the water. put the new section'n, left the giant hole fer me to refill. the cost? $452.00. i nearly fainted! 'tis why i've not called one out fer all this. $250 'twas jest the service call, the rest 'twas their (yup, they'll send 2 folks) 'labor'. oh, charged me $68 to put'n my own pipe.

I don't know what black mold looks like. I do have crud coming from my washer and I don't intend to take it apart to find out the problem. We don't have any leaking water though. I figure one day a newer washer should take care of the problem but in the mean time I hope to clean the laundry tub of all the crud that's built up and see if that helps.

@MarshaMusselman lots depends'n yer detergent, softeners used 'n the hardness 'f yer water. add that to what 'tis'n the clothin' (greases, blood, etc). straight hot water, detergent 'n bleach 'tis the 'norm' to clean such i believe? max load level, cotton settin' will get most out. i clean mine 'bout once a month, but with vinegar 'n washin' soda. 'fter the cycle 'tis done, i check fer any other residue 'long the lip, 'nder the lid, etc. then clean 'em with the same kinda solution.

sure looks't to me. i've wonders if'n that aint why i'm still dealin' with neuro issues? metallic taste 'n headaches? if'n we'd a doc worth their weight, they could test fer such. mold toxicity 'd sure answer those queries. 'twas bone dry. the towel 'tis slightly damp 't the top this morn. gonna 've to figure how to make a gasket fer such. the hubs wished to make one out'ta cardboard 'r leather.... ah, patience. i confess i'm runnin' short 'f such 'n plead fer more. the washer 'twas most perplexin', so glad fer youtube tutorials. most helpful fer that! not so much'n the plumbin', 's they say replace 't all. which i cannot 'fford to do.

@crazyhorseladycx As I said, bulldoze it and rebuild. I know you don't have the funds, but that's your only option. It would cure your headaches and take care of the neuro issues and get rid of the metallic taste in your mouth. If the health department came out, they would condemn your home I'd be out of patience.

't aint normal, that's fer certain! i'm treatin' such's mold 'n wonder if'n that aint why i've still all these neuro hiccups...which 'gain he claims such not to be so. the towel 'twas slightly damp this morn. will need to figure gasket makin'. i confess to nearly snappin' 'this morn. such'd not do any good, so i refrained. when schtuff aint maintained, 'r fixed proper'n the first place, 't tends to get ugly, eh? the bonus bein' i'm learnin' new schtuff....

Can't really tell. It certainly could be the dreaded black mold but I was fooled before. You're not totally batsh1t crazy though if you managed to get most of the problem straightened out. 'twas fuzzy 'n 'd an odor. i figure 'walks like a duck, must be a duck'. i sprayed such with straight white vinegar. i fear i cannot use bleach, jest smellin' such from a distance drops my blood pressure severely. odd, i know. anyhow, 'fter such dried, i removed 't with great care. i've wonders if'n such's an instigator 'f my neuro hiccups? no doubt there's more'n this house... one disaster 't a time. oh, the hubs 'tis surprisin'ly boastin' 'f my 'ccomplishments. i jest aint figured why that cold water line leaks, then stops. jest to pour 'gain later? most perplexin'. gonna see if'n i can get to town later today 'n pick'p that gasket sheet schtuff since nobody makes those fer this any more. that, 'r a friend told me 'bout some rustoleum leakseal tape that worked fer her. need to get'er done 'n correctly so's i can start puttin' floorin'/sheet rock, etc. back'n.

@Namelesss nasty fer certain :( he 'twas happy, but now wishes not to discuss 't. since i cannot drive much these days (i'll not drive with neuro hiccups), i've gotta rely'n him to get what i need. which'f late aint workin' to my favor. he told me this morn that since such 'tis jest barely weepin' (towel 'd a damp spot this morn) that i should jest let't be. now i know why i've all this disaster, coz no doubt that's what he did with the hot water line years 'go. thanks, will do my best fer such not to be so.
