First off, I love Kate Beckinsale. I think she's gorgeous, classy, chic, and a complete badass. I first fell in love with her in Van Helsing, and since then I've been willing to watch a movie simply if it has her in it. Jolt was no different. My husband and I saw this movie on Amazon Prime, and my response was, "Well, it has Kate Beckinsale in it, so I'm down!" and we were NOT disappointed. The main character, Lindy, has anger control issues. Actually, that's a mild understatement. Lindy has an abnormal amount of cortisol in her system, so when she gets "mildly" irritated, she actually kills people. Or simply beats the crap out of them, however you want to see it. She has been given an experimental "vest," by her psychiatrist, that gives her body an electrical shock when she starts to feel angry, that will bring her out of her "rage" and back to reality. When Lindy's boyfriend is found dead, she goes on a rampage that could either save her life, or destroy it. First of all, Kate is awesome, as I've said before. She is absolutely amazing in this movie. I think her personality was perfectly suited for a movie of this type, because it has some comedy, but lots of action, and plenty of fight scenes. The fact that the electrical shock is administered with Lindy's free will in mind, meaning she can choose not to use it, she ignores it sometimes, and allows her rage to actually take over. At the same time, we get to see Lindy's conflict. She doesn't actually WANT to hurt innocent people, so when she's confronted with these situations, her vest is literally a life preserver. I absolutely loved this entire movie, and will likely watch it again and again.

Welcome to mylot. Hope you enjoy your stay here. Seems like a intriguing storyline. I don't have a prime subscription now, so maybe I would find any other way to watch it.
