Yesterday at around 8:47am of Philippine time, July 27, 2022, Abra, Philippines hit by magnitude 7.3 earthquake. It even reach up magnitude 2 here in my area based on the news. However during those time, I was sleeping and not even aware of it. I've only knew about the earthquake after my coworker sent a group message to our FB messenger. Then afterwards I've opened television for more updates. Although only less death and injury qualities I love that news. I hope that there's no more aftershocks. Keep safe always. A while ago, I've seen President Ferdinand Bongbong Marcos set a meeting in Abra for consultation and assessment of the needs of that region. Looking for the best that concerned government agencies will help the needs of the region.

@DaddyEvil One of the issues if there will be aftershocks and it will hit exactly in my place. I don't know where to go.

Yes, as time goes by news is starting to trickle about the extent of the damage it has created mostly in the Northern provinces. Sad to see some old historic churches and old houses are destroyed in some of the places there. I see some casualties but it's not bad despite the strong tremors they experience over there. I hear that there are a lot of small aftershocks happening over there.

@luisga814 That is sad to know since it is hard to restore back those that are affected heavily by it. As days pass there are places that were badly hit being covered by media now and it really is sad to see the destructions brought by this earthquake.

@rsa101 If I'm not mistaken, President BBM immediately inform concerned agencies to restore these places.

Yes. But some of the experts if the Abra River Fault wave the earthquake last Wednesday. How about the West Valley Fault in which about 40-50 kilometers away from my area? According to them it will hit in the next coming years. @Marilynda1225

@luisga814 Do earthquakes happen often in the Philippine's? In Los Angeles, since the San Andras fault is just north I was the family member who felt the most earthquakes. It got so that if someone pushed my chair, I really had to look to see if it was a person or an earthquake.

Yes. Earthquake has no signs that it will hit in a particular date and time. Unlike storm, you can prepare in advance. @sica98
