River of Fun

That was my first time to swim in a river. My husband's cousins together with their family went to Nagcarlan, Laguna. It is a place in Luzon, Philippines where hot spirngs and swimming pools/ resorts are popular. It is a 2-hour drive from Manila to that specific part in Laguna. We all brought something to cook later in the woods. Then we stayed under a nipa hut as a cottage and all of us eat and drink. We also sang our hearts out during the videoke session. This is something we don't do often. It was only plan out of the blue as soon as the cousins of my husband suddenly decides to swim out of nowhere. There is a saying that "It is better to go out somewhere unplanned rather than planning it for months then it's not going to push through". Imagine all that frustrations when a plan does not happens or materialize. Have you gone to a swimming before? What was your experiences?

We started driving on the road at 9AM. It was supposed to take only 2 hours but due to traffic even on a Saturday, we arrived at 12NN. We started cooking pancit, adobo and grilled fish at 12:30PM and we started our lunch at 1:30PM. It was a bit late but still tasty. Then we drink brandy from 2PM upto 5PM then went home. We arrived home at 8PM.

Thank you so much for your insight. I normally go to pool parties and sea side bars/ ocean. But this is definitely a first for me. It's like camping with my husband's relatives.

Laguna is a beautiful province, lots of rivers, hot springs, resorts to swim and mountains to climb and hike, been there in different places countless times. Since I'm from the South it's near our city. I'm glad you had a nice time swimming in the river, did you visit the underground cemetery?

@resy21curapika the underground cemetery is in Nagcarlan, built during the Spanish era it became the meeting place of the " Katpuneros "I think the hero Emilio Jacinto was captured there, it's very historic too bad you did not see it, next time

Hope you get your chance again soon. It was my first time swimming here. Normally I'd go to the sea or pools when it comes to swimming but this was my first.

I love swimming. But in the past two years, I've not been to the beach or pool due to Covid.
