I have been listening in a podcast to the story Soren Kierkegaard, a Danish philosopher in the 19th century. He was known as the father of existentialism. I have been amazed by the desultory of topics associated to this modern thinker - Fear and trembling, Abraham, faith, becoming, Socrates, Hegel. As Christians, we are in the constant state of becoming, Kierkegaard quipped. We are on a journey towards this end. Kierkegaard encouraged us not fall prey to domestication, to lowering our guards in the our quest for transcendence. Have you reached your goal already? Or do you agree with Kierkegaard that we all are in the state of becoming?

I think that only saints can say that they have reached their goals. Btw, do you know what the surname Kierkegaard means? It means 'churchyard'. I wouldn't like to have this surname.

Quite akin to the German word for church "Kirche".

@Junbals There are many similarities between German, Dutch and the Scandinavian languages. When I listen to Danish, for example, I can understand quite a lot although I haven't learnt the language.
