Knocked Down, But Not Knocked Out Yet

I had a stroke on April 26,2022. At first my right side wouldn’t move, but now I can almost walk. I have aphasia, that means I talk nonsense. I am a bit better with writing, though not much. Thank God I can still read. That's all I can do now. I thought I'd check in .What's happened here while I've been gone?

I am glad you are improving. Strokes can be discouraging. Not many things have changed. We grow older, we lose some, we gain some, but we hang together.

My father had a minor stroke in 2021 and we've been helping him with mobility. He can still talk and walk but his overall health has changed since. You look lovely and I'm glad you're making progress. Take care.

I agree with RamaSandra. You look good for all you have been through. Mylot is mylot, never seems to change too much.

Mylot is place of peace. Too many changes aren't healthy.

Hospital food would do that! I don't recommend that way.

@bagarad I know that hospital food did the same to my Mom.

I have to say you look good. Virtual hugs to you and glad you have progressed so much. I will put you in my prayers. Nothing much in my life just writing online as usual and taking care of my two cats Ringo and Morticia. Many blessings to you,

I pray you'll be able to soon. At least you can write what you want to say but that isn't always easy as I have found out here on Mylot.

great job on not letting it keep you down. Keep working on improving. A friend from church would not take the physical therapy to help him get going again and is now bedridden. It is so sad. he's a dear friend.

@bagarad I imagine so. It's still nice to be able to communicate with you, even if it's not how you want it to be.

Oh dear. My mom had stroke, one side of her body was paralyzed, went tcm to unblock clogged blood. Luckily she could move both sides but she cannot walk , she had her right leg amputated due to diabetes. Now shr has dementia. Partly. You are lucky indeed

I am blessed, indeed, so of me is left. I don't have any answers for why it's this way. I we'll get our on the other side. Love, peace, and prayers.

Do you think your bout of covid had anything to do with your stroke? And will you be able to get back to your writing career? Wishing you all the best.

Very sorry to hear about your stroke, and it explains your absense quite a bit. But it seems like you are pulling through like a true trooper. Glad to hear things are getting better for you and you are making progress. Great to see you here.
