I Didn’t Feel Like Being Here Today

I caught hubs staring out the window many times. He admitted that this backyard is remarkable compared to the one up north. Thanks! When I have the time, I intend to make some pot pies, too. Love them!!!!

@DianneN I hope you are not going to have flooding. It seems that we cannot get a decent quantity of rain.

@LadyDuck When we first bought our place here hubs and I went on a cruise with our friends while the finishing touches of the renovation went on. My sister-in-law told us that we missed a huge rainstorm while we were gone. It flooded our parking lot ankle deep. Disgusting! So far, so good and our new seawall has a good drainage hole for runoff water. Getting a new parking lot installed in the not too distant future. I'm sure you need rain and hope it comes soon to you. Is that unusual for your area to be so dry?

Sorry about that. We FaceTimed with our son this morning. He heard that we had 10 inches of rain. That's a lot!!!! Thank goodness we had no flooding. I kept my eye on the water, but it never seems to go past its usual point.

@DianneN I remember once, when my children were small, that I forgot about meals for them as I was reading. Fortunatly there were some steaks in the fridge and I played with them "the mother bird". I fried the steaks, cut them in small pieces and gave each little bird a piece while standing around the skillet. My girls did not usually like meat but then they devoured it. So it was that, fruit and back to my book

No time for napping here. I couldn't put my book down until I finished it.

@marguicha I used to stay up late at night reading and waking up early for carpools, etc. until hubs put his foot down. Once I suggested candy and cookies for dinner one night, since I didn't feel like cooking. Even the kids said NO to that idea. Crazy!

@DianneN — it was ridiculous. It looked like a waterfall at the Ft. Lauderdale airport.

No flooding here, but my son, who has been watching the news in my area also, told me we received 10 inches of rain. Today it's sunny with clouds and we may have a shower or two. It is what it is and gave me time to relax and catch up on things around the house.

@FourWalls We couldn't see out of our windows, especially the ones facing the water. We did need that rain, however!

It was 1959 and dad was shipped over on a decommissioned war ship and no, it really wasn't fun but I did like the food and that bell when they announced breakfast, lunch and dinner.

I didn't see any boats out on the water, but couldn't see much out my window anyway when it rained. This was nothing compared to the 12 foot waves on some cruises I took. I now need a patch when I'm on a boat. So you returned from Germany by boat? How cool!

So true. I love being here, but this year has been a whopper for me, sucking up lots of free time. I was surprised at how good Yellowstone was. It didn't appeal to me at first. I hope you get a chance to watch it.

@DianneN You're always busy with something... And your grandkids keep you really busy, too. It's not my type of show but I may take a peek, just for you.

Now I really am for a bit. Had an hour FaceTime with our son, a morning walk, and an adjustment to our sliding glass door. The beef stew was so good and much better than making it in the crockpot.

I can't wait for the summer when the rest of season 5 airs. It's awesome!!!! We actually watched 2 good movies last night, but don't ask me to name them for you The weather seems to be the same in CT, but getting better in FL. Enjoy it while you can. April can be so iffy.

Fortunately, that water never overflows. I always wondered how it knows where to stop Yes, the laughs can get very choppy at times!

That's the main reason we are here - and it's an intercostal waterway. Never overflowed in all the years our condo has been around. Thanks!

Hubs went to the supermarket to pick up some things I'll need for my dinner party. I forgot to add lemons and limes to my written list, so out he went again for me. lol
