Today's trip to the big Tesco.

We went to the big Tesco again today. I got some seawweed thins and a bottle of water, then I looked for some prawn layered salads, but they didn't have any so I got some tuna and pasta things instead. We were going to go and get some vitamins for my step-dad when I noticed a stationary set in a pink basket like thing and I took a fancy to it, so my Mum said, if you want it put it in the trolley, so I did. Then we went and got the vitamins for my step-dad, and while we were there I said, I wonder if they have anything for the menopause? And then I saw some right next to the vitamins! There were 3 types, one at £4.95, one at £11 and one at £18. I didn't really think the one for £4.95 was really what I was looking for, but the one for £11 was specifically for hot flushes, night sweats and irritability, so I got that one. There was also a menopause testing kit, just like a pregnancy test. That cost £20. I didn't know you could get menopause testing kits! We got the usual fruit and vegetables, and I got a carton of soy milk with no added sugar. Then we got yoghurts, milk, a smoothie and some puddings. My Mum wanted both sliced red Leicester cheese and grated cheddar cheese. Then we went to the vegan and ready meal isle. I got some chick'n'less bites, 2 vegan quiches and some vegan mac and cheese. We went to the ingredients and sauces isle and I got ground black pepper and turmeric and Mum got some cranberry sauce and sea food sauce. Then we went and got 6 sliced white rolls and some cake. Then we got pringles and I got some matcha green T-bags. Mum got some sugar free biscuits. I was going to look and see if the Wheat Puffs were in stock in the cereal isle, but I went down the wrong isle! I ended up going down the seasonal isle by mistake, and I saw some cute stone dog garden ornaments, so I went and looked at them. They were of cute puppys, Labradors and pugs. I thought they were very cute. Then my Mum came and joined me. She wanted to know what it was lounging on a garden swing on the shelf above the pups. I said, it's a gnome Mum. Then I looked along the row and said, look! This ones playing golf! My Mum looked at the golfing gnome and said, that would be perfect for Bill. (Meaning Bill Marks, a senior citizen who comes to church and likes playing golf.) There was only one left of the golfing gnome, but I couldn't see a price for him. All the other gnomes on the shelf, and on the shelf above, were reduced to clear. Bill's birthday has gone this year, but I said to my Mum, if you want him, you'll have to get him now, otherwise he will sell out. So Mum said, yeah, get him. So I put him in the trolley, but I made sure I was extra careful with him. Then we did go down the cereal isle, but there were no wheat puffs, and the wheat puffs weren't even on any of the edges of the shelves where they tell you how much they cost, not even to say it was out of stock and when it was due in. Have they stopped making wheat puffs, I wonder? So then we went to the frozen section. I got some vegan magnum ice lollies, and Mum got some potato smiley faces! She also got some chicken pies. I looked for the cauliflower bites again but they were still not in stock and this time it said they were due in on 23 August! So I got some prawn toasties again instead! So then we went and payed. It came to just over £111! I went and sat with Mum on a bench. I tried to put my stationary set in the tote bag that I always bring, but it wouldn't fit so I had to carry it separately. I went and swapped my book at the Tesco book swap, then I put the golfing gnome in my bag to keep him safe. I looked on Mums receipt to see how much he'd cost, and I saw that he was £5.25 down from £7. They called it "Tesco golf gnome." At about 4:20pm we went down on the lift. My step-dad wasn't there when we got there, and a fella was sitting on the bench, so we stood by where the pick up point is. But then the fella left, and Mum said, he's gone now if you want to sit down. So I went and sat on the bench. My step-dad wasn't long in coming, so then we went home. When we got home we unpacked the groceries and put them away. I put the gnome on one of the shelves in the dining room for the time being. I had my dinner and watched some telly. I had one of the menopause pills, but I don't think it's had chance to start working yet. How was your day? I hope you are all well. Have a great day/evening/night

I'm glad you got the golf gnome for your friend at church. I'm sure he'll like it. You had a good grocery outing. I don't know if they stopped making Wheat Puffs as I don't eat cereal very often.

Sounds like some good bargains and a busy day in town. I haven’t done much today. I did get your 8000 steps and cooked a crockpot of veggies. I went to the mailbox and lost my Readers Dijest on my way home.

Thank you very much. I enjoyed my trip to the big Tesco. I think Bill will love his gnome! I don't think I do 8000 steps very often. I hope you enjoyed your crockpot of veggies. How did you manage to lose your Readers Digest on the way home from the post box?

@sharonelton I thought I’d lost it but this morning I found it on the floor slightly under the couch. I had a package of medication and Readers Digest in the same hand and thought I’d dropped it outside.

Quite a shopping trip - my day was mostly preparing and later performing poems in a bar - also started final editing on a book on pubs I have written.

Thank you very much. Yes, it was a productive day. I'm glad we got a good bargain on the golfing gnome. Bill will love that! I hope the pills will help. I took one last night and I don't seem to be having as many hot flushes as usual. But it's hot again today, so I do feel hot because of that.

@LindaOHio Thank you very much. I'm glad too. The hot flushes do come back near the time you're due to have the next pill!
