What would you do with 500,000 Dollars? Corporate America And World Should Do This

The NBA Is spicing things up in the regular season. They are following college basketballs in season tournament. See, who says you cannot get good Idea's from people lesser than you? I make bad jokes. The winning team of the NBA's in season tournament gets an extra 500,000 G's. Not a bad gig if you can get it. Anthony Davis of the Los Angeles Lakers, says its actually firing the guys up. Gives them something to play for because its a long season. A lot of guys do not make money like AD and Lebron, 500,000 is half the of many players salary. I know cry me a river. That was also 2022 2023, I am not sure what this years minimum for NBA players are now, but its always higher than the previous because they have a union, unlike you or I. Anyway, we should have little company tournaments like NBA. Except the CEO's and top dogs of company have to carry most of the load and the little guys just chime in their 2 cents like in NBA when a bench warmer comes off the bench and hits a clutch three. Then who ever wins, Everyone in that company gets 500,000 You all thought I was crazy saying our economies should be half capitalistic and half socialism. It works great in pro sports. You all should listen to me. Oh by the way, the Lakers are 2 and 0 in the tournament, probably be 3 and 0 after tonight. Portland is just not good at pro basketball right now. They are 4 and 6 in non tournament games. Do the math, give people a reason to get motivated again.

You can do anything you want, you earned that miss lady. A lifetime of raising a good family should at least get that.

@jstory07 That is with us all, Marines were big on simple things like what you did for them, even National Guard give you little parties and nothing like 500,000 but all I needed to know, we did good. Wish corporate America would learn that trick. The money is nice but what people want more than anything in this world is a purpose. Most people will always throw that money out the window if you can guarantee show them a purpose. Mankind may be crap but that does say something. We need better leaders.

I can't speak to the NBA because I couldn't care less. But about that $500k you really didn't talk much about in your post, I would invest it of course. It would earn $30,000 a year and if I wanted to spend something, I'd spend that and leave the $500k sitting there making me money.

@porwest You have a point.that would set most young people right for their life, except not many teach that. Those kids like I am going to be a star, no you are not. they blow it so bad just on taxes, they will never ever be able to afford that place outside NBA salary. Most 19 year old kids 20 whatever will be out of NBA in the next year. Welcome to minimum wage if you lucky. Most will not find a job because they still stuck on the I am better than you mindset.

@porwest With NBA and Football but more so than NBA because I would say 70 percent come from poverty and never seen money like that in their life. I believe football was around 60 percent and baseball I am not sure but heard quite a few have had that happen. Hell I will be honest, I know about some stuff but a lot of how to actually capitalize even off a average salary is mostly over my head, unless its standard safe stuff. Most these people hear you have to be a risk taker and a shot caller, then they make stupid investments. I never trusted anyone enough to go that route. Those youngsters are easily sold because they tell them, but you are elite in sports. Why not business? You still have to know what you are doing and never trust anyone.

@crossbones27 It goes to a point I have often made, and that's that when money problems exist in one's life, it is RARELY an income issue. It's a money-knowledge issue. Many athletes, movie stars and musicians blow their fortunes because they simply do not understand how money works.
