First I guess I should thank y’all for tolerating three days in a row of country “gonna” songs. There’s one more country song tomorrow, but for today you can get up and dance to this one. Party time, 70s style! #4: Whatcha Gonna Do - Pablo Cruise Yeah! Man, I loved this album back in 1977. I have news for you: I still do. I just recently discovered that this band had its origins with the band It’s a Beautiful Day, the late 60s/early 70s band who had the hit “White Bird.” You listen to that song, then listen to this (or their other big hit, “Love Will Find a Way”), and you’d never guess. Sad lyrics about a broken relationship (“so you’re having trouble with your romance”) but you can dance and sing along! Whatcha Gonna Do Written by Dave Jenkins and Cory Lerios Recorded by Pablo Cruise From A Place in the Sun, 1977 And all at once you’re ready to hang it up:

It had a dance feel without being full-blown disco.

@FourWalls I agree. It had a catchy sound and a good hook line.

It hurts to think that these guys that I listened to as a teenager are almost too old for “oldies” stations.

California. They had a couple of big hits and a couple of minor ones.

What I observed that the songs which I listen are made in 90s or later. So do you think that if a person born 90s will listen to those songs only ? Do you listen to music which is older than your born year? like if you are born in 90s then you are listening to 80s or 70s music ?

I did a count on one of my 100 favorites list, and I think it was a third of the songs (33 out of 100) were recorded before I was born. I listen to music going back to before my parents’ births. I think the oldest song I’ve used in a countdown is “The Prisoner’s Song,” which was recorded in 1925. I always like to say that music isn’t milk, so it doesn’t have an expiration date. Yes, people do listen to music in the context of historical bias. That’s sad, because people miss a lot of great music that way.
