It’s been a long time since I’ve opened myLot. Life has been crazy. So much has happened in the last year. I’m still quilting. Call it my escape. Walking took a back seat, but my children told me I need to look after myself….soo….we are being very careful what we eat, trying to get in at least a short walk every day. Finding time for myself has been challenging. A year ago our daughter was very ill. Since then, she’s much healthier. In February I slipped on the ice and broke my left wrist. It’s since healed. In April my husband was hospitalized for congestive heart failure. Since the. It’s been a roller coaster of worries, crises, appointments, tests, hospital visits and stays and general craziness. The image shows my game of chicken. I had just enough thread.

I'm sorry it's been a crazy health year for both you and your husband. I'm glad you're eating healthily and taking a short walk daily. I hope your husband feels better soon. You came very close with the thread.

We are hoping to have some of his issues resolved in about two weeks. If the procedure is successful, his quality of life should improve.

Welcome back to myLot! It sounds like you've been through quite a journey in the past year. Quilting seems like a wonderful way to find solace. Taking care of yourself, even with short walks, is important. How are you feeling now after all these challenges?

I try to go for. 45 minute walk each day, I walk at a brisk pace. It’ll be easier now that the weather is warming up,

I think that you did post about your fall, but not about your hubby's illness. I am so sorry for that, he hasn't been retired very long, I know that you will keep him healthy and he will live many more years.

I’ll do my best but the list of issues he has makes surviving for any great length of time unlikely.

He’s stable at the moment. That seems to be the best we can hope for without the procedure we are waiting for.

Sorry to hear about your husband. Is he doing a little better now? I know that never goes away. I've never heard of playing chicken related to sewing when you're almost out of thread. I fell maybe about six years ago, actually it might have been around 2018, when we had ice everywhere. I'm the pavements in the lawns etc. I'm surprised I didn't fall going to and from work. Instead I fell in ice covered snow between the sidewalk and road in from if my house while putting the garbage out. Each leg went a different direction. Thankfully I didn't break any bones.

@Morleyhunt will they have to open him up to get to the area or can it be done they a tube or something?

@MarshaMusselman they will be going in through an artery/vein from his groin. It’s not invasive, so this reduces the risks. He has so much wrong now that surgery would not end well. They gave him only a 50% change of surviving open heart surgery…a risk we were. It will to take,

My husband was much worse in December. Hospitalized twice, at deaths door, both times. Since. Then we have kept him as healthy as possible. Next week they will insert metal clips to try to improve his hearts ability to pump blood.
