Our refrigerator stopped working because of the heat

The last summer was extremely hot. We had 40 degrees Celsius. Our fridge stopped working. We keep our refrigerator in the kitchen. And one day we noticed that the food was very warm. We checked the leftovers and everything was spoiled. This happened because in our house it's extremely hot during the summer. The peanut butter didn't last. I almost lost all my frozen fruits. I worked for many hours to freeze wild blueberries. We need to be careful during the summer from now on. Now it's winter, but we always wonder how much time will the refrigerator work. We have another refrigerator and this saved my frozen fruits.

The other fridge we have wasn't prepared when the new fridge stopped working. It was full of books. We had to work a lot to get rid of all those books. The fridge had ice somewhere and this made it stop working. And it's No Frost.

@dya80dya - When it is too hot, sometimes too much ice forms and the refrigerator does not arrive to melt the excess of ice and it stops working.

@LadyDuck Yes, this is what happened. And I am afraid that it can happen again.

It must suck if the fridge can't surive the heat. But, I guess if it gets to hot anything could break.

@dya80dya Were you able to have it fixed, or will you need to replace it?

Thanks for the warning that such things can happen, This past summer in Florida was intolerably hot but thank heavens the fridge survived but I will remember to look out for such things. Right now we have the other problem a much to cold weather sap with temps in the 40s F,

You are welcome. This fridge is still new. Some pieces of ice were stuck behind it and this made it stop working. Now it works again.

I know how it feels to not have a refrigerator working due to either excessive heat or extreme cold.

Some ice was stuck there and this made it stop working. When we left it for 24 hours without electricity the problem was solved. The ice melted. But the food was already spoiled and we had to get rid of it.

Refrigerator is an important housel hold appliance as it keeps our foods fresh. It's good that you have another refrigerator as a backup.

Yes, we noticed how important it was when all our food was spoiled. The other fridge was full of books. We never used it until this new one had problems.
