Will God do It?

I was talking to a friend the other day. They said that a person in their church lost his leg to cancer. They are praying for a complete healing including the leg growing back. I believe that God can heal the cancer. I have known people who were cured. But, I'm not sure about the leg growing back. What do you think? Can God make the leg grow back? Will he do it?

I fully agree with @FourWalls, surely God can, but he won't. She explained perfectly why.

I tend to agree with Four Walls, too. I have never heard of a case where a limb regrew. When my friend told me about this, I thought it was a little over the wall myself.

God can do anything, but is He going to make that guy’s leg grow back? I’m going with no. Miracles happen every day, but a miracle like that would only have happened in Bible times I’d assume. I’d be a little concerned about a church who would foster the hope of an amputated leg growing back. Curing the cancer? Sure, we’ve seen it happen, but not regrowing a leg.

@RebeccasFarm I don't know many of the answers. God can do anything but he won't in many cases. I don't know why.

When my friend told me about this, I thought they went a little around the bend, but like Four Walls said, God can but probably won't.

No. I watched a movie where a guy who thought he could make another guy's leg grow longer (by praying) because he was disabled. Of course it didn't work. Then he became sick in the head and killed the disabled boy.

A lot would depend on if the whole leg was already there. I have seen videos of someone supposedly making a person's leg longer, but I never saw any proof of that.

Yes He can but it will need faith. Also, maybe they should get a pastor who has ever prayed for a limb to grow before and it grew. If I knew them, I would suggest they check on "The last reformation" on YouTube. Torben might help.

@akalinus The last reformation is a Christian organization started by Torben Sondergaard. He teaches people and travels the world doing miracles. He has many followers in the world who pray and make miracles happen.

Yeah, like Four Walls said, God could do it if He wanted, but probably won't. When my friend told me about this, I thought it was pretty far-fetched, in my opinion. But, I never want to put limitations on what God can do.

@porwest God gave humankind free will the same as He did the angels. Some angels revolted in heaven and decided they would do as they pleased. It is the same today here on Earth. Demonic forces are taking over. Is it part of a plan? I would do all I could to save the boy from being run over even if it meant sacrificing my life to do so. Who would not take a bullet for their kid? I do not understand much of what is happening, especially from a religious perspective.

@akalinus I don't know. I think too many people put too much emphasis on God's power or even His perfection. The world is not perfect. Man is not perfect. And of course, if man was created in the Image of God, then God must also be much like man even if He is God. One has to wonder sometimes how it is that a serial killer can live for years in a prison cell and innocent children die from cancer? Or how men like Hitler or Mussolini can rule and destroy so many lives and there is no "Divine intervention" to remove them from their power. It makes me think, if I saw a 13 year old boy about to be hit by a car, would I stand there and let it happen, or would I do something to try to save his life? I'd probably do the latter, and I do not have the power of God, but I also do not have the ability to just watch and let "fate" run its course. For me, religion is just a very difficult thing to understand or make sense of.

If the leg was amputaded, then I don't think the leg is ever coming back. God can do many things, but he also allows things to happen, to hopefully make us better people.

Yes He certainly can; but I don't think He will. Have a good day.

Yes, God can make the leg grow back. God gave the man a warning with the cancer. It was a warning that there was something in the mans life that he either needed to change or needed to ask forgiveness for. As, more than likely, that hadn't occurred, it was decided that the leg was to be sacrificed. Now, the person has several options. He can carry bitterness in his heart towards God because he lost his leg, he can become angry and take it out on others because of the loss of his leg and others still have theirs. Or, he can use the loss as an example to teach others about the goodness of God (after all the man still had his life) and that he was given something new to learn. The choice is that man's, and hopefully he will pray to God for his assistance, and forgiveness for whatever he did to cause the cancer, and thank him for the lesson.

I think this guy will use it as a personal witness to what God has done in his life. He still has the cancer and it will be a miracle if God chooses to heal that.
