My Home Town

I have lived in Boise, Idaho all of my life(72 years). The capital city has grown and has some great parks and recreational areas. We have the Boise River running right down through the middle of the town. A long trail, the Greenbelt, runs for 25 miles down through the town along the river and out to outlying towns nearby. Some of the parks and other areas are as follows: Ann Morrison Park, Kathryn Albertson Park, Julia Davis Park, Numerous points on the Boise State University campus, Parkcenter Blvd., Veterans Memorial Park, and Quinn’s Pond and Whitewater Park. Veteran's Park is just two blocks away and used to be a home for veterans. My grandmother used to take me with her when I was about 5 or 6 to go visit them and take them some of her relishes and jams. They have made a beautiful park and have a monument to all military entities. It is lovely. I am very proud of the city I live in. It has a population of 240,713( as of 2023). The train depot up on the hill is a beautiful building. They open it on special occasions and you can climb up in the bell tower and look over the city. The picture is courtesy of Rockymountainva.org and is of the military monument.

Glad to know about your home town. It has a small population but you have described it well. It can make a good tourist attraction.

Hmmm... three parks named for women... Will you identify those flags at half staff for us, please?

Yes, all women. Not sure what you are asking about the flags. The flags represent the different factions of the military.

I do. I need to get out and do that. I used to ride the greenbelt on my mountain bike and it connects to most of the parks.

Boise sounds like a nice place to visit. Our township is under 5,000 people. Our biggest attraction is Lake Erie. Have a good weekend.

Boise is called the city of trees due to all the trees. It is lovely. I have never found a place I liked better.

From the descriptions alone, there's no doubt about the beauty of your place. How nice to jog there on your lovely park.
