What makes some artistes and even ordinary people unstoppable? What is the secret of their success? There must be something else along with being good at what you do. Singer Beyonce Knowles is now the first black woman to take top spot on the Billboard Country Music chart with her recent single entitled: "Texas Hold Em" Beyoncé becomes first Black woman to claim top spot on Billboard's country music chart

Usually having good friends among politicians helps a lot.

True, but l doubt politicians or good friends will help anyone who has no natural talent.

@Kandae11 Of course not, but how many even more talented are unknown because they do not have powerful friends?

@LadyDuck True, there are lots of unknown talented people out there. Maybe along with being the perfect package, one has to as they say - be born under a lucky star.

Power doesn't always count for good old fashioned talent and determination. While I am not a national household name, there are a lot of people who know my work and will contact me about their needs. A lot of success comes from the deep down drive to make it in whatever endeavor that the person is involved in. Politicians might be able to help a person's career and also getting them to the top of the music charts, but if they can't carry a tune in a bucket you can figure that they won't get to the top of the charts with all the "good friends among politicians" in the world. I sound like 30 angry tom cats in a bag having a huge fight when I sing, and I could have tons of friends in the music world along with friends in the political world and I wouldn't even get a chance to cut a single to release on the off chance that people might buy it. Can anyone give Beyonce credit for having natural talent? Yes, she is beautiful, and she has a lot of friends...but hard work and talent needs to be taken into consideration.

@BearArtistLady When we were teenagers my two sisters planned to launch the three of us as a girl group. Started with three and ended with two, l was removed after just two sessions.

I agree with all that you have said. And when it comes to the description of your singing voice l think l sound a little bit worse than you, - but it doesn't bother me because there are other things that l do very well.

@Kandae11 I didn't sing lullabies to my daughter when she was a baby, not only would she cry like crazy but the neighbors would call thinking I was harming the dog. Even in High School when I took guitar class the teacher took me aside one night and asked that I didn't sing, that the class complained and so did the other classes that were in the building...

I just now listened to her first country song, and it started off with a harmonica, sounding very country. But then it morphed into jazz, and the saxophone, and didn’t sound country at all. Maybe her other songs sound more country than that one.

Some people seem to get more lucky breaks than others. At least, that's how it seems to me - or maybe they just make their own luck. Someone once said 'the harder I work, the luckier I get'. and there might be something in that.

It's called the IT factor. Beyonce has that IT factor. She's a legend for this generation. Like Michael jackson in the 80s. He was unstoppable. He had that IT factor.

It is odd that black men have done it, but you don’t get many black women giving country music a go. I love country music, and two of my favorites are Kane Brown and Darius Rucker. They are both black, and have enjoyed enormous country success. It will be interesting to see if Beyoncé has staying power. Her regular fans have given her music a boost, and as more of her country music gets played, I wonder if the regular country fans will embrace it too. As a country fan, it would be nice to get more fans that don’t necessarily look like me. Someday, I hope Amyra gets interested in country music.

I think one of the secrets of success is doing something you really love - not just for money and fame. So if she really enjoys trying her hand at it she just might make a go of it.. Yes, l remember reading about Charley Pride - and in the beginning the music producers thought it best not to have his picture on the album cover...
