3/12/24 - Update on My Husband

Tried to get a hold of my husband at Cleveland Clinic. No luck. Tried the rehab facility late in the afternoon; and he was there; however, there was no answer in his room. He may have been in the dining hall or his phone is not near him.
Will try calling again today. Hubby's cousin's son had a fever; so she was unable to come over to help me yesterday. We couldn't have gone to visit my husband because he was between facilities. If her son is better, we may be able to visit him on Friday. Since it's the day before my birthday, I would like to go to Red Lobster after we see him...I told his cousin I would treat her; and I have a coupon for a free dessert.
I will have to watch the level of care very carefully at this facility. Does he have water? Where is his phone placed? How is the physical therapy that he's getting? Is anyone helping him cut up his food, open his containers, etc.

I am glad he is feeling better and he was moved to rehab. I hope they take good care of him there, and yes, you should talk to someone from the rehab and tell you how they take care of him. Of course, you will get a better idea when you visit him and see it for yourself. But until then, it is good to find out all you can over the phone.
Your birthday is coming up... hope you get to spend the day before with your husband and your husbands cousin :)

You have every right to call Cleveland Clinic and ask the details and get an update. Yes, you will need to be proactive about his care, eating and having water are top priorities. I hope you can find out more tomorrow. Sure sorry you have to wait to see him.

@LadyDuck Yes, the dining room staff is very lazy. They saw my husband sitting, sleeping with his food getting cold and did nothing. I hope when he goes back to rehab that things are better. I will be keeping an eagle eye/ear on what's going on.

He never left the Cleveland Clinic. He's now in the Surgical ICU.

@LindaOHio What has been your impression of the Cleveland Clinic so far? They are a well-known facility, so it would be interesting to hear from your perspective if they're deserving of the respect they're given on a nationwide level.

@moffittjc They seem to be very caring and keep a pretty good eye on my husband. He has several doctors working with him who have "tweaked" his meds. He should be going to rehab today. I'm sure he will immediately see the difference!!!

Hells bells if you have to make sure everything is done
you may as well live there with him or have him come home
that's crazy, you shouldn't have to be worried about that.

Unfortunately that's the way it is in places such as that. You have to keep an eagle eye on them. Some places are very bad.

@LindaOHio Yeah I know & that's just not right when
that's THEIR JOB, that the INS pays for, I was blessed
to have the staff I did when I was in the rehab place I was
in, they took great care of me, & those that had issues I
got rid of cause I didn't put up with such crap.

That's good he was moved, hopefully this time things go better! Sorry you couldn't see him yesterday, but hope you can see him then and will have a nice meal out for your birthday.

I would request a meeting for the day you are going to raise all your concerns and state all the BAD treatment he got before and tell them you will be monitoring the situation. You can also report conditions to the Sate. They will look into it. That should wake them up over there!

Yes keep a close watch on the care they give him. He deserves the best care. I hope you get to go visit him on Friday and get to go to the Red Lobster. Prayers being said.
