With the vascular surgeon about my veins... There's some "insufficiency" but the provincial health insurance doesn't cover the treatment anymore to correct it, so nothing will be done. He suggested I could wear compression stockings, but I'm not gonna do that either. Summer's coming on (at least I hope so) and wearing those old people stockings just would be unbearable. Anyway the varicose veins are just little ones. So that's that.

I have big varicose veins and decided not to do anything about them. I no longer wear support hose and the veins don't normally bother me. Then again I'm not on my feet much at all. I hope yours don't bother you much. Have a good day.

I’ve never worn compression socks, but thinking about wearing them during summer sounds pretty awful.

If it’s not a serious issue you can monitor. Some compression stockings aren’t bulky old people socks. Do what works for you. Elevate your feet when you can.

It's a pity insurance doesn't cover the treatment. Your health system is much different to ours.

The provincial plan was great until the conservatives started slashing it.

Compression stockings sound like a real pain, particularly during the warmest months. I think that there is not a lot that can be done.

Too bad it's not covered and as long as you can do without then that is good,

It's too bad health insurance doesn't cover correcting the problem but maybe you should get some compression socks to have on hand in case you might need them.
