No power!

As I mentioned in a previous post, we are due to have a power outage today from 9 AM to 3 PM. No it is not due to an act of God, nor the eclipse. It is due to Pacific Gas and Electric doing maintenance work of some sort. Oh snap! I have only nine minutes to get my hash and eggs cooked.up. I have made a list of things I can do today that do not involve electricity in my house. Do you still exist? What time is it? So far I can tell the world is still here at 8:51 AM.

Too bad you won't have power for many hours. I hope you only experience that today and not many days.

It is supposed to be only today. It is 9:06 AM and I still have power. I turned off my stereo. I don't want to hear a "pop" when the power goes out.

When you get back online you’ll discover that cats have taken over the world.

@TheHorse — it’ll be official. “They” didn’t want to tell anyone, but the “eclipse” is the cat spaceship landing.

@May2k8 It's a good time to nap. If you wake up, you can check and see if the world is still here.

At least it's good they told you earlier so you can prepare accordingly. I would expect the same treatment from God, the Eclipse or the weather. I can think of many activities to do that don't involve electricity but I'm likely to end up sleeping anyway.

Power is life, do you know some parts of Africa have consistent Power outages through out the day, and without any warning.

Good idea to turn off equipment so that it does not suffer from a surge when the power is returned.

The power came back on at 3:50, only fifty minutes late. Glad I wsnt counting on it for my defibrillator or something.

Reminded me of an awesome Tom Waite song And the world keeps turning. I love his raspy voice on this one.

I am so glad we have a standby generator. I persuaded hubby to get one installed. When he's not here and the power goes out, I have power/heat/AC/lights.

Oh! No electricity for long hours would mean that you will stay away from online world. But then the silver lining would be that you would find so many old traditional ways to keep yourself engaged. Would love to hear about how you actually spent your day

Yes, I still exist. It's good to push yourself and do things differently occasionally. Makes life more interesting.

I think you were a bit naive thinking the company would stick to their 9-3 time slot. Here, 9-3 could easily mean an earlier start and/or a later finish.

@TheHorse Good luck with your to do list of the day of the outage. That was good they told you instead of springing on you.
