It seems this morning we have two little birds wanting to fight with each other. I know it's been a while since I've talked about the 5 birds. The baby birds are roughly 2 months old and they are getting so big and look like the adult birds now (mom and dad). We have gotten to the point that now we sometimes have to sprit, sprit the birds when they start misbehaving with each other. Yes just like human children baby birds sometimes fight over things. From food, and attention to just this is my spot. So the spray bottle has come back out. We have a special spray bottle that the oldest two birds know is for when they start nibbling at each other. These are nibbles that are not playful or friendly it's the ones that are meant to hurt which is a big no. So far this morning I've had to use it twice, and several clapping of my hands. Now they all seem to want to behave because he knows my mom's voice of knocking that off. It's the same one I use on my kids. Now they are all back to just squeaking and eating. Now if only that worked on my actual children.

Can you describe the birds? What kind are they? The sprayer works for cats that don't behave. I never heard of using it for birds. Kids would probably love it.

They are green cheek conures (small parrots). They are social birds so they are usually more than one. Our adult two had baby birds around February and March. So they are still young we have each other hatch dates since they hatched here naturally on their own. Yes, spraying them works a lot like it does on the cats. It's usually to just stop what they are doing. A lot of times you can get away with just using a hard tone calling their attention to stop but sometimes it doesn't work and we need to spray them. The older two are a lot better behaved because they are no longer baby birds. Sometimes they just don't want to share a toy or want something to eat that someone else has. We give them all the same thing so if one gets a treat they all get a treat. You can also use a spray bottle on dogs. Children not so much but playing they are bugs in the rug when they are trying to throw a tantum is effective in most cases when it comes to humans.

@ShyBear88 That is so interesting. The birds are a lot like toddlers, fussing at each other and wanting what another is eating. They must be entertaining to watch and to live with. Do you have cats? Do they go after the birds?

@akalinus No my husband is allergic to cats so we don't have any cats. We have birds, bearded dragon, a snake, and a ferret.
