Exhausting Joy

I am absolutely exhausted. I have been busy doing yard work and gardening. Getting older makes the work a little harder and more challenging, but it is so rewarding. Today, I cut the grass, did some weedeating, cleaned the above ground pool, and picked up a bunch of limbs and sticks. I am achy and tired, but feel so accomplished. I love a beautiful yard. Afterwards, I worked in my garden. I have a flower garden and a few crops ( corn, carrots, tomatoes, sage, lemon thyme, cabbage, banana peppers, bell peppers, squash, chives, parsley, and cauliflower). Tomorrow I will plant strawberries and cilantro). My husband has a fruit orchard (apples, peaches, plumbs, figs, blueberries, and pears). I will clean up around that tomorrow after church. I am so thankful for those things with which God has blessed us. It is exhausting work caring for these things, but they bring so much joy.

I agree, that's what I spent the day doing myself, even though it was a little chilly, I just kept at it, till it got too cold for me but got a lot done.

It is chilly here today. That's unusual for Alabama.

I am in agreement with you that God has been good to all of us giving us work to be happy.

I'm glad to hear that I am not the only one with the aches and pains after gardening!! But, like you, I love it and it is totally worth it!!

My mother loved her garden. I'm sure it kept her healthy and fit almost all of her 104 years.
