Yep another yr older & another yr slower than last ha ha ha
but I'm getting things done little by little each day that I get.
around this time last year we were setting our sights on a
Fla trip, but as luck would have it a month later I landed in
the hosp. May 5th to be exact, till Sept the 5th & 60 lbs lighter.
So now it's been like 7 mons since I've been out of the hosp
which sure doesn't seem that long ago I went through h3ll &
now I've gained my strength back & getting my mojo back again.
I spent the day working in the front yard raking leaves & pulling
rocks that got buried under yrs of leaves, I got all of the rocks
out & put them where when it rains it will clean them off again.
Tomorrow, I'll work on getting the flower bed I have going cleaned
out & put down some vapor barrier to keep the weeds out & put
some old straw down I have around the plants I have coming back.
I got husband to work on getting the wheel barrel fixed where I can
use it to move all the leaves I raked up, so I can turn that into planting
soil for the NEW plants I plan on getting NEXT yr to get them going.
We have taken a break from the cabin to get some other things done
& after this weekend we'll get back on it again to see how far we get
B-4 we have to take ANOTHER break from it, whew I have SO MUCH
work to get done it's like a never ending job, but we'll get it all done.
When I crashed I didn't have 1/2 the work we do now & since it has
taken a whole yr away from me to get back on my feet the work just
seems to pile up to get caught back up again, no rest for the weary.
But 1 thing I can say for sure I may be another yr older in a few days
but I can say this, I'm not ready to just give up & let my health keep me
down, I feel so much better when I can get out & get something done.
If I can get a day to work in the yard or in the cabin it makes my day
to know something got done even if it's not a lot at lest we did what
had to be done to set back & thank God he gave me the day to do it.
I've read a few of the posts on here where most of you have done
the same thing, to work in your yards & gardens, doesn't it just fill
your heart with joy to be out in the fresh air & enjoying your labor?
Just always think to take breaks & not over do it cause yard work
isn't as easy as you would like it to be at times, but rewarding to
see the results it took to get where it is to enjoy what you have done.

i couldn't be 3 days in hospital for a minor procedure while you stayed this long, you really went through lot. if i had a garden and not just a flat on the higher floor, i would do something around it too. your spirit of not giving up is remarkable. i wish i felt the same. recently, i don't have a will to fight anymore cause the results are the same.

Living in a place you can't do anything brings the sprit down
So I totally get where your coming from, very understandable.
I did go through more than I ever in my life time expected to
but, while I was recovering from it all I made up my mind it
wasn't going to keep me down when I have so much life left.

@grenery8 When you have been through as
much as I have in life you have to come to
a realistic answer to what has kept you going
all these years & the only answer I have is
the 1 & only Dear lord above.

Happy Birthday! So glad you are doing better. We have way too much pollen for me to get outside, but hopefully it will get better. My climbing China Rose is doing so good...lots of blooms this year. Hoping to get some herbs started this week.

Thank you, I'm doing better than I thought I would when I 1st
got out of the hosp, but I did message my sugar Dr about my
insulin that he has me on, for him to take me off the fast acting
1 & cause I don't use it as much as I do the long acting 1 which
I take 2 X's a day every 12 hrs & it keeps my sugar study.

@Ghostlady yea I have been trying my best to keep
on top of it but I'm no Dr so I just try & stay in contact
with my sugar Dr, & what I can find on you tube that
I take with my Dr about to see what he says.

@2ndchances24 I was 64 when I found out I had Diabetes, well, the doctor called it PRE-Diabetes.. My BS test was 108...he said I should be 104 or less. I monitored my BS 4 times a day for 2 weeks, and the highest I got was 136. He gave me a script for Metformin 500mg once a day. Have taken that for 6 years, but last month, my BS was higher than usual in the morning. I don't see my diabetic doctor till the end of May, so I just went on and added another dose early in the day, and my usual at supper. It has gone back down. Anything over 120 is not acceptable for me. I strive to stay under 120. Tried Jardiance for 14 days..ended up with a UTI and stopped taking it. Really didn't see a big change in BS level anyway, so no big deal dropping it. Went back to Metformin. Heard some bad things about Metformin, but it HAS worked and haven't had any problems with it. I have a friend that takes 2 scripts for her diabetes, and was supposed to be taking Rebelious (sp?) but she can't afford it...She eats stuff I would NEVER eat that much food with Carbs. I shutter every time she tells me what she at for dinner! She has had diabetes for decades and just eats whatever she wants. I tried doing that in moderation, and found my BP going up..Stopped doing that. LOL Anyway..have found out that there is No set standards with diabetes, you just have to keep trying and do whatever works for you. Sounds like you have found a good way of dealing with it for you!

If I had a garden or yard that is all what I would do also.
Glad you are getting stuff done Gayle.

I hear ya, it's something I've always loved doing
that's why I could never live in ap'ts cause you just
can't play in the yard like having your own place.

It was a little nippy yesterday but it warmed up enough to
get some decent work outside done which helps me keep
my sugar down when I'm out working in the yard.
