Monday Morning Brief and Sunday Update

Good morning from sunny Green Bay, Wisconsin, USA. It's currently 54 F.
Yesterday was a good day, starting with church and then watching movies all day. I'm slowly making my way through the Christian movies on my top shelf in my video shelves. Yesterday, it was the Case for Christ and The Nativity from my collection, then I turned on Tubi for a couple of movies. Right now, I only remember Faith's Song. Now, I remember. I watched Mr. Roberts. I've been wanting to watch that one for a long time and was happy to find it on Tubi.
Today, my son will pick me up at some point and take me to Spectrum to turn in my equipment as the complex is getting rid of cable, though I still seem to have it through my Roku. So, since I can get it there, I really have no need for the cable box.
I'll also get the notifications done, work on books, and get my steps.

@just4him I enjoy those old lamps, too.
I completed my notifications in between doing other things. It took up most of my day.
Still in FL. Shipping the car home at the end of the month or first of May with my brother’s car. A friend is driving us to the airport, and we fly home May 3. My brother is flying around the same time as us, but taking a different airline. Our younger son will pick us up. Going out for real New Haven pizza with him and Aniella Friday evening.

@DianneN Yes, it can take most of the day to take care of notifications here.
Good to know you're on your way home soon. I hope you had a good time in Florida. You missed all the bad weather in the north.
We didn't have a good winter. One major storm in winter, and then another one a couple of weeks ago in spring. Old Man Winter let me down this year.

Yes, there's another like it in the foyer. I always liked those old lamps. That one is on a side table at the end of the hallway on my floor.

@celticeagle Yes. I found a few movies on the 'Leaving' list I want to watch. One I haven't seen in years - It's a Mad Mad Mad Mad World. I think it's on Tubi.

I don't have any cable or ruku & still get all the t v entertainment I want
through you tube from my computer, I'm not doing a whole lot today
being I turned another yr today, it's my day to do NOTHING.

@just4him thank you, yea we did do a few things today in the cabin
we put up some of the vapor barrier, & put down some alum flashing
along the walls to keep the critters out & took down the ceiling fan.
When we took down the ceiling fan it was LOADED with dust & I
took my husband THIS is what I was breathing that made me sick
& he said, I wish we had of known this was going to happen sooner.
I told him if we had of known we wouldn't have been able to do
anything about it to fix it like we can now, but it won't happen
again cause this is what it TOOK to do what we're doing now.

Love the lamp, and flower arrangement. I thought at first that the flowers were part of the lamp. LOL I cut cable a year ago because Comcast raised my monthly fee to over $200, and I didn't even have HBO or any other movie channel. Of course Internet was part of that. I pay less than Half of that bill now for Internet, and an additional $85 a month for Hulu+. Tom loves watching the SEC channel, and I love watching Fox News and the Business channel and ABC for General Hospital. so we could not find any other deal cheaper that included both. I tried watching my stations on Youtube, but really sucked. Had to wait until that night to watch Gen. Hospital, and didn't get all the shows I like on Fox. Anyway, I also got $30 off my bill because of my income. But that might be gone next month. Looking into other options. Did laundry yesterday and just relaxed playing my games and a jigsaw puzzle while I listened to youtube

@Ghostlady I'm glad you have other options. I don't. The only other one for the city of Green Bay is AT&T. I won't go with them, and besides, the complex is set up for Spectrum.
My Internet bill was supposed to be $49.99, but a couple of months into the government program, it went up ten dollars. Then a couple of months ago it went up two dollars to $61.99. When you add in $30, it's outrageous and everyone I talked to here has their bill at $49.99. So, I have a work order in with them to lower my bill. It's been pending since April 8. The guy told me today not to pay the bill until the work order is complete. If I pay it now, I could end up with a credit. So, I wait.

I know cable is outrageous. I'm glad it's free. However, I rarely watch it because I have Roku and enjoy several streaming channels.
I had $30 deducted from my Internet bill too. This month is the last month for the income deduction. My bill has gone up in the last year so that when the regular bill comes out, it will be almost $100. I can't afford that and went to talk to them. It's on a pending work order. I also learned I couldn't bring the cable box back because of the agreement with the complex.
I thought you could get live programming on YouTube.

@just4him You can for some things, but not General Hospital...and not Fox News...I have Roku, and subscribe to Hulu+. I watch a lady on Youtube, that tells you about benefits and free stuff for low income people. She said to ask Xfinity about their Internet Essentials plan. So I intend to do just that and possibly my bill could go down to less that $50. If not there are other companies to choose from now days! Xfinity has about over priced themselves into existence.

I’m still a cable person due to most of my favorite sports being on cable. That’s why I got Amazon Prime during the football season too (and it was half price) because they got Thursday Night football. Sports are the thing I watch the most.

I rarely watch it. Still, it's nice to have football when it doesn't come in on the antenna. Spectrum told me I couldn't bring the box back because they still have an agreement with the complex. So, a technician is coming out tonight to find out why I don't have service.

@kaylachan It seems I'm still getting free cable. They told me I couldn't return the box because of the agreement they have with the complex. So, now I need to find out why I don't have cable. A technician is coming out tonight.

My Monday is off to a good start. No complains 
I got rid of cable about a year ago and wished I had done it sooner. Glad you're enjoying your movies.

Cable is/was part of the rent, so it was free. That's changing. So, I'm taking the cable box back. I got rid of cable years ago and like you, never looked back. In the almost four years since I've been here, I know right, time flies, I think I watched cable three or four times.
