Do you have African Violets at home?

These flowers are my favorite mom's flowers. She loves violets so much and everyone in the house knows this. She received these African Violets when it was her birthday. Some flowers are withered in this picture, but in reality, they look amazing. These flowers aren't toxic for cats. I have lilies too and one of my cats tried to eat them. I was there to stop her. I will post some pictures of my lilies. They blossomed and they are beautiful. But knowing that lilies are toxic for my cats is stressful. I need to be very careful.

Good these violets will give you less work as you don't have to protect the cats from them, actually, it could be the other way around. Weird how cats rely a lot on their smell but can't tell if a plant is toxic by smelling it, well done for preventing your cat from eating the lilies.
My mother likes orchids instead, so we barely have those. I don't care about looking after plants but if I had a green thumb I'd probably keep some basil and chili pepper plants, I'm more practical I guess.

@dya80dya Orchids are very fussy, they wouldn't survive in the other apartment. Here they thrive, for some reason. They also require special care, similar to that of cacti. For example, you don't water them like other plants but you have to let the roots soak in water for a while. And of course, roots also need access to sunlight. All that work for some boring flowers, give me the chili peppers!

We keep our plants outside. That way I don't have to worry about them. But, we don't have anything like that.

@dya80dya I know people who keep plants outside even in apartments. But, I just mentioned what George and I did.

@dya80dya do they come in different colors?
I don't have a lot of windows for sun to come in
so I don't guess they or ANY plants would work
in my place.

pretty flowers. Good to know they are toxic to cats. I have 4 cats. One always wants to get into the plants and ends up throwing up.
