Ordered two remotes

Dish network kept trying to sell me The Hopper during the phone call. Actually I could get it for free, but once I get the new internet I am going to look into getting Chromecast or something. I probably won't be using Dish. Anyway, they will send a free remote, but it won't arrive until the 29th. I can get one from Amazon, but of course I had to pay for it. I will send it back after the Dish one comes. I hate to do that..but not going a week without a remote. I have to sit on the floor to change channels..plus it keeps trying to change the channel to record things..which I have to run over and change.

I wouldn’t wait a week for a remote either.

I know.. especially when it is hard to change the channels. I can't stream ALL the time.

Our remote came back to life yesterday evening. I ordered a new one "to play safe". We have no more the habit to get up to change the channels.

This one won't do anything. Good idea to have a spare in case it starts playing tricks again.

@snowy22315 As this one played tricks the past few days, I prefer to have one ready.

I can see your point you need that remote right away.

Yeah, this set up was meant to work with a remote trying to change those channels manually is a bit of a nightmare

Remember the old days before remotes? Ugh. Do what you have to do.

I had Dish when I was living in the trailer. I liked it, but I didn't like the price of it. Now I have mostly all free apps on my uncle's Roku tv. Two paying ones: Netflix and Amazon Prime. My mother lost the remote to the Roku tv one time so I got the Roku remote app on my phone. It worked very well. I kept the app in case that ever happens again. I did find the remote though.

Friend has Roku I think. He likes it. Can you get local stations on it?

It's awful having to manually change those. channels that are meant to be used with a remote.
