Hiking alone in the mountains

April 23, 2024 11:00am CST
Once, while hiking alone in the mountains, I got caught in a sudden storm. Lost and disoriented, I found shelter in a cave. It was a terrifying yet humbling experience that taught me the importance of being prepared and staying calm in challenging situations.

That can be extremely dangerous. I wouldn't recommend it.if you do that again make sure you tell someone exactly where you will be.

@maggiejoseph You're welcome. It doesn't happen to everyone the first time. Smart people stick to a trail or hike where there is one

This happens to everyone for the first time, the same happened with me too. But now if I go, I will go with someone or after telling someone. By the way, I would like to say thank you that you care for me.

That's so cool: following the steps of our ancestors, finding shelter in a cave! I go for walks and hikes alone too but up in the mountains, I'm not so brave. Good you managed to overcome the storm, I guess at some point you wondered why you decided to hike up there in the first place. And did you find the answer? Not making fun of you, I'm genuinely interested as eventually it allowed you to experience a valuable lesson.

That was actually a very scary moment for me. I was scared. I don't have the courage to do it again

@maggiejoseph Yeah, once in a lifetime is more than enough.
