Good morning, friends.

We are here with a chilly yet sunny morning. I am waiting for the gas. I could not wait until May. Although I´m sure that many of my friends here who have snow in winter would laugh at the temperatures I dread, I have to remind everyone that I don´t have central heating nor air conditioning. So it is a matter of using more or less clothes and a gas heater that is so tiny that I named it years ago R2D2 thinking about the small robot on TV. Did I tell you the story of my R2D2? I bought it, it was tiny yet it heated as much as a bigger one and my mom fell in love with it. I had never named it by its brand name. In fact, after decades I don´t know the brand. So my mom went to a big store and told the salesman that she wanted an R2D2. The salesman looked at her and answered Say what??? My mom came back home and told me that she had gone to several big stores and that they seemed to be out of R2D2s. ILMAO!!!! I explained to her that it was the name I use (as I call my washing machine Juanita). And went with her to buy a heater. But the one she bought was never as good as R2D2. I have it for maybe 30 or more years. It is faithful and uses little space. Do you have any gadget that is so helpful and nice that you could even give it a name? I have the news off so I´m very happy. See you.

That's such a cute and funny story about your mom looking for an R2D2. I also love that you have named your washing machine I have a few smart plugs and have given names to my fan (Tyson) my couch side lamp (Watson) and the car is Wally.

I think that naming some of our gadgets induces an emotional relation with them. I even "talk" with Juanita, telling her not to yell me that she has finished washing just when I´m in the middle of my lunch. With R2D2 I have a sort of motherly love. He is so small yet has behaved so well for decades. One of the things that make me not want to live in an apartment when I sell this house is that it is forbidden to have gas heaters in apartments here.

@marguicha R2D2 has been with you for so long he's a family member now. That's at shame that you wouldn't be able to take your little heater if you moved to an apartment.

@Marilynda1225 Exactly. I wish I could get a small one story house. But they are not easy to find now.

Your poor mother, I can imagine the face of the sale people when she asked to buy R2D2.

She was so sure that it was the brand´s name. She had no idea that there was such a thing as a robot named R2D2. And it never ocurred to me to tell her. All my friends knew about it.

That's such a funny story. Your poor Mum! The salespeople would have laughed about it.

That's a cute story. I haven't named any of our appliances. Have a good day.
