My cat ran away, from our 7th floor apartment!!!

My cat Ramona ran away last summer. I was having work done on the roof to make it waterproof for the next winter, and had the window to the roof open. One day Ramona got out, and never came back. We live on the 7th floor, and she probably got into someone's window that opens to the roof, or she got into the elevator access shaft, and someone thought that she was a stray, put her outside. She was wearing a collar with a bell though, but not microchipped. I never saw her again. She was a spotted tabby, a bit fat, and not that friendly. But I still miss her, she used to come and sit on my desk while I was teaching on line.

Yes, this is a picture of Ramona, she was a very fiesty cat and got herself into lots of trouble, she was named after the Beverly Clearly book "Ramona" a four year old girl who got herself into lots of trouble.
Ramona did that even to the last time I saw her. . .

I am so sorry to hear that. It seems no matter how well people treat the cats, they will still find a chance to get away for some time. I don't really know why. Perhaps the cats need to go out to find another cats? This is why people are told that remember to close their doors and windows well in case the cats will run away suddenly. It doesn't matter you live in a high building.

@lifecoachjerusalem There might be a silly idea. That's you tell the nearby cats that you miss Ramona and you hope she will come home soon. Let's see whether there will be a miracle.

Yeah, she got out before and meowed in the elevator access shaft on the other side of the building, and we were able to lure her back home. This time though. . .
