Have you ever threatened a company with the BBB?

I have contacted the Better Business Bureau in a few cases, but lots of times all you have to do is threaten it and they straighten right up. PetSmart is driving me crazy currently and I have provided the same info to them at least 3x. One person thanked me for providing it, the next day they are asking for the same info again when I provided it twice before to different people and then again today. It seems this is bouncing around rather than having one person assigned to it.That is it with this BS .if I don't have my money back by Tuesday I am going to the BBB..which I informed them of. We will see if it gets any action.

I hope you get your money back. Yes, I have gone to the BBB about a couple of companies. In one case, I wasn't the only one who went to them about the service they provided.

If it is a larger company, in many cases others have filed as well. It is usually a good way to get your money back.

Goodness, that’s bad. I’ve never complained to the BBB, but you know what popular company has an F with the BBB, but Mylotters seem to love them? Temu. Maybe you’ll put some fear into Petsmart.

Yes, Temu has a bad rating with the BBB. I have a real issue with Temu in that through research I have discovered they can practically get all your info, absolutely everything,in the last two weeks two of my neighbors who recently ordered from them had credit cards hacked, one had her bank account frozen, and both are really struggling with this. They are being investigated. I want bargains as much as the next person, but I will not support them.

That does not sound to be a good service. I remember an Italian user wrote to BBB when Bubblews cheated us. They paid her... shame that I did not think to do the same.

Where was Bubbles based? I didn't think you could use it for international companies.

@LadyDuck That really isn't what I meant. If a company is internationally based like say England and you are in the US. I don't know if it works like that.

@snowy22315 Bubblews was an American company with their headquarters in California. Of course you can contact BBB from a foreign country to complain. This is what their site says and I have underlined the part concerning foreign countries.

Businesses are good to asking the same stuff over and over. I think they think the customer will get tired of it all and back off. Good luck with getting some action.

I don't intend to let it go. They don't have the right to my money when I never got a product.

@snowy22315 Good for you, Snowy! I don't like to be cheated like that, either.

Yes, I will be reporting the company that gave me the runaround about the step and railings. I want to know why they don't want to do business with me! Good luck with your refund. Have a good weekend.

Thanks, I think you should, but if there was no money lost they may not be able to do anything other than downgrading their rating.

@snowy22315 I just want it published so others will know what they did...or didn't do.

I have on a few occasions. I remember registering a complaint against my cable provider at the time but got much better attention by writing a letter to their corporate headquarters. I also made a complaint against a hearing aid company for my dad. But I got more help by contacting the consumer protection agency located in my county. BBB just logs your complaint but does not really attempt to resolve the problem. Businesses do not like being reported, but some will make only make a half-hearted try at solving the issue. I've found writing a letter to the company headquarters or consumer protection got better results.

That's not true. They have resolved a few complaints for me. If you tell corporate you intend to go to the BBB it will give your complaint high priority. They don't want the bad publicity.

@snowy22315 I see. Yes, I use them as a threat too, and I agree businesses do not want the bad publicity when people check to see if anyone has registered a complaint on the BBB site against them.

Chewy is a good company, but it usually takes awhile to get a delivery. I used to use them. The only reason I went to PetSmart was because Amazon didn't currently have it in stock, and I was hoping to pick this up in the store curbside.bi should have just called the store.

The one company I should have reported to the B B B but did not report them was Newspaper Archive since due to not having a computer from late August 2020 to mid October due to damages from Hurricane Laura which I was not able to cancel my subscription which caused me to be charged for two months despite the fact that I had no computer to work with.

Yeah, some don't care. I should have reported a company here for bad auto repairs. They said I should have brought it back to them. Well if they couldn't fix it the first time, why would I think they could do it right the second time?. The car wasn't driveable.

I hope that they straighten it out for you. I may have threatened companies with the BBB before, but it has been a long time ago. If I remember correctly, I did in fact turn in a gym, where I got a membership. They locked their doors one day, went out of business and wouldn't refund my money back. I had just signed up and went for like 3 -4 weeks when they decided to close. It seems it took a while, but I did eventually get my years membership refunded back to me.
