Betrayed and Abandoned

If anyone is on social media, I am sure they have had feed that reveals a significant number of people who feel betrayed and abandoned. I know that I see it daily on facebook. There are those who invest in the lives of their loved ones. They love with every fiber of their being, only to be ignored for new friends or hobbies and to be betrayed once one is through using them. It is heartbreaking to see so many people hurting. Some of these hurting people are confused because they can't understand why their loved ones no longer desire to spend time with them. They are tired from trying to figure out what they could have done differently. Some of them even fall into self-loathing, taking the blame for something they didn't do. Those who are victims of this kind of selfishness and betrayal must realize the problem is not with them. It is with the betrayer. Most sins stem from the sin of selfishness/self-centeredness. People who are this cruel, only God can change their hearts. If one can all of sudden be happy without someone who loves them in their life, that one who loves never mattered to begin with. All the broken-hearted can do is turn the situation over to God. That one should pour all his feelings and thoughts into prayer and allow God to direct and heal them. Allow God to work in the life of that wayward loved one, then find joy in the other blessings God has given.

That's just a problem that we have with social media. You can tell people not to get wrapped up in what they see and hear, but as humans it's in our nature not to help ourselves. It's why I don't spend a lot of time on it.

I spend less time on social media than I used to. I used to spend more back when myspace was a thing. Facebook is kinda boring. But we definitely need to spend more time nurturing relationships.
