Cauliflower rice versus traditional rice. 5.1

We did not make it to the doctor's clinic last night, so we are planning to go tonight instead. In the meantime, my sister and I decided to try something new. We experimented with making a rice alternative using cauliflower. I began by trimming the leaves and stalk from the cauliflower, then blended the remaining florets. I heated a pan, added some oil, and sauteed garlic and onions. I also added one egg. Next, I poured the cauliflower rice into the pan, seasoning it with salt and pepper to enhance the flavor. My mother said the taste was okay, but she still prefers the traditional rice. I explained that it might take some time to adjust to the new flavor but emphasized the health benefits, especially since the doctors have repeatedly told her that consuming too much rice isn't good for her health. Nevertheless, resisting the temptation remains a significant challenge. My mother loves to eat, so dieting is really tough for her.

That looks nice , but I think a little expensive? I mean the cauliflower itself. I have watched a video and she is eating shiratake rice , and the other video I saw was she is eating adlai rice, they say these rice types makes you full even though you only consume a little and I think its expensive too ! Oh my why is dieting this hard hahaha

I hear you. Cauliflower rice, shiratake rice, adlai rice...it feels like every healthier alternative comes with a hefty price tag. It is like they charging us for the dieting struggle itself, right? Who knew eating healthy could be such a workout for our wallets

@iKONICNoona Absolutely! Eating can be such a joy. It is all about finding that balance between indulging and staying healthy. What is your favorite indulgent treat that always brings a smile to your face?

My very best friend uses cauliflower instead of rice and I hace eaten it there. I like it but it is much harder to make as you have to grate it. I eat less for health but donĀ“t use any special sort of food.

Using cauliflower instead of rice is a great idea for cutting down on carbs and adding more veggies to your diet. Grating cauliflower can be a bit of work, but maybe some stores sell pre-riced cauliflower, which can save you time and effort.

@annierose I buy cauliflower a lot but use it steaming it and eating it with homemade mayo. That is easy and yummy.

If your mother should not eat too much rice, this seems to be a good alternative.
