Thanks to the actions of Matt Kraycar who is employed by K&K Wildlife Rescuers took action to rescue an alligator who was trapped in a drainage pipe since October 2023. The incident took place in Hilton Head South Carolina on Thursday April 11 at the Port Royal Plantation in a 12 inch drain pipe. Matt was able to rescue the alligator. The alligator managed to survive since alligators like bears do hibernate in the cold weather. After the alligator was rescued by Matt, the alligator only suffered a chaffed snout but the animal is expected to make a full recovery in the wild. Link is upi.com/17117139784475 via @upi

I am not sure if I would like to live so near wildlife. Bears and alligators are not my kind of friends.

The alligator must have made a choice in error.

As much as I fear alligators, I don’t like any animal to suffer. Happy it was rescued.

The same feeling I have towards animals getting hurt even though they are dangerous.

That is a long time to survive without food. Perhaps, it had a long sleep, and dreamed of when it could be free again.

I didn't know that alligators hibernated. I'm glad they rescued the alligator.
