Dang! I thought my fellow Midwesterners had common sense!

Why were these Midwestern ladies driving after a party with babies and children in the car? And why did they leave the scene of an accident? And why was a baby so poory buckled in his /her baby seat that he or she could fly out of the car? I am befuddled. Do you read stories like this where you live?

Sadly that isn't just something that happens in the Midwest. A "girl" who worked for me when I managed Burger King let her mom watch her then 3 or 4 year old at the time, the mom took her granddaughter to the bar with her, and left her in the SUV while she drank at the bar. Then flipped the SUV pulling out of the bar that night. They were both ok, but STILL.

I am glad this story had a positive outcome. Was the Grandma arrested?

@TheHorse Probably, I distanced myself from them around the same time. She has gone to jail a few times in the time sense. But she actually has turned out better than her daughter.

Why do they want women to have babies when they were raped. We could be here all day here buddy.

Who would go get drunk and then drive home with kids in the car?

I take videos with a huge lump of salt given anything can be faked. If it were real, then you're dealing with idiocy at its finest.

You think this may have been faked?

@TheHorse It's possible. Highly likely. People will do anything to get videos to be picked up and go viral. Views means money, and fed up drama sells.

@kaylachan This isn't fake. This was a local news story.

If you leave the scene of an accident you go to jail. I have never heard of babies not correctly bucked in their seats.

@TheHorse We have so many policemen on the roads, they would notice a kid not correctly buckled.

@LadyDuck I am so resigned to the lack of law enforcement here. When I am behind someone at a stoplight turned green, and they're texting away, oblivious to the green light, I just sigh and start counting. I am not "hot-headed."

My hunch is it happens here more often than there.

Wow! Stupidity ran high with those two. I hope the infant survives.

Babies are incredibly resilient. I hope the baby survives as well.

@TheHorse Yes, they are, but being thrown from the car like that and having brain bleed isn't good.

When I have kids around, I drink less, party less, and have a BETTER time.

If you leave the scene of a accident that is bad and if the baby is thrown out of his car seat that is being a bad parent.

@jstory07 Could it have been some forward facing car seat that didn't even fit the baby? I have no clue.

I half wonder if the baby was even IN a proper car seat.

That's crazy and sad. They shouldn't have been drinking in the first place.
