Day 112 – Celebration Leviticus 23:1 JEHOVAH spoke to Moses, saying, 2 “Speak to the children of Israel, and say to them, ‘The feasts of JEHOVAH, which you will proclaim to be holy convocations, these are My feasts. 3 Six days will work be done, but the seventh day is a Sabbath of solemn rest, a holy convocation. You will do no work on it; it is the Sabbath of JEHOVAH in all your dwellings. 4 ‘These are the feasts of JEHOVAH, holy convocations which you will proclaim at their appointed times. 5 On the fourteenth day of the first month at twilight is JEHOVAH’S Passover. 6 On the fifteenth day of the same month is the Feast of Unleavened Bread to JEHOVAH; seven days you must eat unleavened bread. 7 On the first day you will have a holy convocation; you will do no customary work on it. 8 You will offer an offering made by fire to JEHOVAH for seven days. The seventh day will be a holy convocation; you will do no customary work on it.’” 9 JEHOVAH spoke to Moses, saying, 10 “Speak to the children of Israel and say to them, ‘When you come into the land which I give to you, and reap its harvest, then you will bring a sheaf of the first fruits of your harvest to the priest. 11 He will wave the sheaf before JEHOVAH, to be accepted on your behalf; on the day after the Sabbath the priest will wave it. 12 You will offer on that day, when you wave the sheaf, a male lamb of the first year, without blemish, as a burnt offering to JEHOVAH. 13 Its grain offering will be two-tenths of an ephah of fine flour mixed with oil, an offering made by fire to JEHOVAH, for a sweet aroma; and its drink offering will be of wine, one-fourth of a hin. 14 You will eat neither bread nor parched grain nor fresh grain until the same day you have brought an offering to your Elohiym; it will be a statute forever throughout your generations in all your dwellings. 15 You will count for yourselves from the day after the Sabbath, from the day you brought the sheaf of the wave offering: seven Sabbaths will be completed. 16 Count fifty days to the day after the seventh Sabbath; then you will offer a new grain offering to JEHOVAH. 17 You will bring from your dwellings two wave loaves of two-tenths of an ephah. They will be made of fine flour; you will bake them with leaven. They are the first fruits to JEHOVAH. 18 You will offer with the bread seven lambs of the first year, without blemish, one young bull, and two rams. They will be as a burnt offering to JEHOVAH, with their grain offering and their drink offerings, an offering made by fire for a sweet aroma to JEHOVAH. 19 Then you will sacrifice one kid of the goats as a sin offering, and two male lambs of the first year as a sacrifice of a peace offering. 20 The priest will wave them with the bread of the first fruits as a wave offering before JEHOVAH, with the two lambs. They will be holy to JEHOVAH for the priest. 21 You will proclaim on the same day that it is a holy convocation to you. You will do no customary work on it. It will be a statute forever in all your dwellings throughout your generations. 22 When you reap the harvest of your land, you will not wholly reap the corners of your field when you reap, nor will you gather any gleaning from your harvest. You will leave them for the poor and for the stranger: I am JEHOVAH your Elohiym.’” 23 Then JEHOVAH spoke to Moses, saying, 24 “Speak to the children of Israel, saying, ‘In the seventh month, on the first day of the month, you will have a sabbath-rest, a memorial of blowing of trumpets, a holy convocation. 25 You will do no customary work on it; and you will offer an offering made by fire to JEHOVAH.’” 26 JEHOVAH spoke to Moses, saying, 27 Also the tenth day of this seventh month will be the Day of Atonement. It will be a holy convocation for you; you will afflict your souls, and offer an offering made by fire to JEHOVAH. 28 You will do no work, for it is the Day of Atonement, to make atonement for you before JEHOVAH your Elohiym. 29 Any person who does not afflict his soul on that day will be cut off from his people. 30 Any person who works on that day, I will destroy from among his people. 31 You will do no manner of work; it will be a statute forever throughout your generations in your dwellings. 32 It will be to you a sabbath of solemn rest, and you will afflict your souls; on the ninth day of the month at evening, from evening to evening, you will celebrate your sabbath.” 33 Then JEHOVAH spoke to Moses, saying, 34 “Speak to the children of Israel, saying, ‘The fifteenth day of this seventh month will be the Feast of Tabernacles for seven days to JEHOVAH. 35 On the first day there will be a holy convocation. You will do no customary work on it. 36 For seven days you will offer an offering made by fire to JEHOVAH. On the eighth day you will have a holy convocation, and you will offer an offering made by fire to JEHOVAH. It is a sacred assembly, and you will do no customary work on it. 37 ‘These are the feasts of JEHOVAH which you will proclaim to be holy convocations, to offer an offering made by fire to JEHOVAH, a burnt offering and a grain offering, a sacrifice and drink offerings, everything on its day— 38 besides the Sabbaths of JEHOVAH, besides your gifts, besides your vows, and besides your freewill offerings which you give to JEHOVAH. 39 ‘Also on the fifteenth day of the seventh month, when you have gathered in the fruit of the land, you will keep the feast of JEHOVAH for seven days; on the first day there will be a sabbath-rest, and on the eighth day a sabbath-rest. 40 You will take for yourselves on the first day the fruit of beautiful trees, branches of palm trees, the boughs of leafy trees, and willows of the brook; and you will rejoice before JEHOVAH your Elohiym for seven days. 41 You will keep it as a feast to JEHOVAH for seven days in the year. It will be a statute forever in your generations. You will celebrate it in the seventh month. 42 You will dwell in booths for seven days. All who are native Israelites will dwell in booths, 43 so that your generations may know I made the children of Israel dwell in booths when I brought them out of the land of Egypt: I am JEHOVAH your Elohiym.’” 44 So Moses declared to the children of Israel the feasts of JEHOVAH. Names of God: JEHOVAH – Self-existent, Eternal Elohiym – Mighty God Theos – Mighty God Yeshuwa – Jesus Iesous – Jesus – Greek Hagios Pneuma – Holy Spirit, Breath Pater – Father – Greek Kurios – Lord – Supreme Authority, God God’s character: Holy Mashiyach – Savior Christos – Anointed One Everyone likes a holiday. It does not matter what the reason for the holiday is, it’s a chance to get away from work and celebrate. JEHOVAH gave His people three feast days and five days of celebration: 1. The Feast of Unleavened Bread following Passover 2. Pentecost 3. Feast of Trumpets 4. Day of Atonement 5. Feast of Tabernacles Each feast lasted seven days. The first day and the eighth day were non-workdays. Two feasts have seen fulfillment through Yeshuwa their Mashiyach. Only the Feast of Trumpets has not seen fulfillment. That one will see fulfillment when Yeshuwa returns for His bride. The Feast of Unleavened Bread celebrating the Jews leaving Egypt, signifies Yeshuwa as the Passover Lamb who gave Himself as the perfect sacrifice for the sins of the world. John 3:16 “For Theos so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. 17 For Theos did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.” Pentecost took place fifty days after Passover. It is the day when the Hagios Pneuma appeared in cloven tongues on the disciples’ heads and the outpouring of the Pneuma took place. Acts 2:1 When the Day of Pentecost had fully come, they were all with one accord in one place. 2 Suddenly there came a sound from heaven, as of a rushing mighty wind, and filled the whole house where they were sitting. 3 Then there appeared to them divided tongues, as of fire, and one sat upon each of them. 4 They were filled with the Hagios Pneuma and began to speak with other tongues, as the Pneuma gave them utterance. The Feast of Tabernacles, signifying the time the Jews were in the wilderness and Elohiym dwelt with His people saw fulfillment with the birth of Iesous Christos. John 1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with Theos, and the Word was Theos. 2 He was in the beginning with Theos. 3 All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made. 4 In Him was life, and the life was the light of men. 5 And the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it. 6 There was a man sent from Theos, whose name was John. 7 This man came for a witness, to bear witness of the Light, that all through him might believe. 8 He was not that Light but was sent to bear witness of that Light. 9 That was the true Light which gives light to every man coming into the world. 10 He was in the world, and the world was made through Him, and the world did not know Him. 11 He came to His own, and His own did not receive Him. 12 But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of Theos, to those who believe in His name: 13 who were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of Theos. 14 And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Pater, full of grace and truth. The Day of Atonement is the day the Jews afflict their souls because of their sin. Yeshuwa became our atonement through His suffering before His crucifixion. His suffering atonement became our salvation. Romans 5:10 For if when we were enemies we were reconciled to Theos through the death of His Son, much more, having been reconciled, we shall be saved by His life. 11 Not only that, but we also rejoice in Theos through our Lord Iesous Christos, through whom we have now received the reconciliation. Reconciliation is atonement. You are reconciled to Iesous Christos through His atoning sacrifice. The moment you accepted Iesous Christos as Mashiyach and Lord, His blood covered you and reconciled you with the Father. The Feast of Trumpets signified a day of Sabbath rest for the Jewish people. They didn’t do any work on that day. For Christians, it will be the day when you hear the trumpet call and the dead in Christos will rise and you will join them together in the air. 1 Thessalonians 4:13 But I do not want you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning those who have fallen asleep, lest you sorrow as others who have no hope. 14 For if we believe that Iesous died and rose again, even so Theos will bring with Him those who sleep in Iesous. 15 For this we say to you by the word of the Kurios, that we who are alive and remain until the coming of the Kurios will by no means precede those who are asleep. 16 For Kurios Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet of Theos. And the dead in Christos will rise first. 17 Then we who are alive and remain will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Kurios in the air. And thus, we will always be with the Kurios. 18 Therefore comfort one another with these words. You have much to praise Elohiym for with the birth, life, death, and resurrection of His Son, Yeshuwa. Without Him the world would have no hope of Eternal life. Elohiym knew this and sent His Son to be your reconciliation, your atonement for your sin. JEHOVAH’S special feast days had a purpose. Rejoice in their purpose and give praise to Elohiym for His Son, Yeshuwa. Let’s pray: Father, thank you for paving the way through Your feasts to show me how You would atone for my sin. Thank you for Jesus, Your Son, who gave His life so I could have eternal life. Let me praise You every day for what You did for me. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen. A lot of these statutes were to last forever, as a statute forever. I guess God wanted to emphasise their importance to his people, but I wonder if all of these statutes are still being carried out by the Jews, even today.

@just4him I guess the strictly orthodox Jews might still try to follow these things, where they can still do so, in the society of today.
