My appointment was for 2:30 but I went there straight from work so I got there at 2. I figured I'd just have to sit there until 2:30 but I must have been the only patient there because they took me in right away. I was a little concerned when I stepped on the scale and saw the number was 5 pounds heavier than what my scale usually says. My stomach has been pretty good lately so I get that I might have gained a couple of pounds. It wasn't until I was driving back here that I realized it was also going to be different because I was fully clothed and wearing shoes. Phew. Anyway the nurse took my blood pressure. I knew it wasn't good because she didn't even tell me what it was. Then a nurse practitioner student came in and asked me why I was there. I told her about the high blood pressure and heart palpitations. She took it on both arms and she also didn't tell me what it was. In fact no one ever told me. I saw it written on the piece of paper though: 177/114. The NP and NP student agreed that they should do an EKG. Luckily the results for that were normal. So the NP said she would send in a script for the Bystolic (generic now! Hooray!). She asked if I needed anything else and I told her my inhaler and antidepressant. So she sent all 3 over to a pharmacy that I pass on my way back here. I stopped there even though they had only just been sent like 5 minutes earlier. I asked the tech how long it would take to be filled and she said 10 minutes so I waited. (hence Whiskey's owner flipping out that I wasn't back here yet) I have to go back in 3 weeks to have my blood pressure checked to see if the dosage of the BP med has to be adjusted. They wanted to do bloodwork today since I haven't had that done since August. I told them that I'd rather do it another day when I was fasting because the August sample was not fasting. I'd like to have some idea of my ACTUAL sugar level to have as a baseline. So that's the update on my latest health drama. I've already taken the BP medicine so hopefully I can get this under control in the next few days. Stay tuned!

I actually felt better today than I did yesterday and my BP was way higher today. Strange.
