Decided to share my poems on Instagram

I stumbled upon an Instagram profile of a poet. She has millions of followers and whenever she posts something—post or reel—she gets a huge amount of likes. Tens of thousands. Hundreds of thousands. Even millions.
I tried posting some poems of mine on Instagram, which I haven’t really done before, and hardly any likes at all. I wonder what I am doing wrong. Or not doing what I should be doing.
I also wonder how she has gained so many followers and gets so many likes… I’d love to have that kind of success.

Remember that social media success is not solely based on the quality of your work, but also on factors like visibility, timing, and luck. Don't be discouraged by initial setbacks. I need lots of luck then. I’ve been messaged by someone telling me they can give me lots of followers and likes…for money of course. No way am I paying anyone to get likes or followers.

submittable?

@just4him One thing that I think is true is that it doesn't matter how great what you post is or how great a book you publish is. It's about how well you can market yourself and/or your book. And I am not great at marketing.

Maybe. Or perhaps she is one of those overnight successes. Like you post something and it goes viral and you start getting tons of followers.
