Kinda Freaked Us Out

We had some food delivered to us the other day. We often send for a latte, or dinner sometimes on a Friday evening. So the dasher knocked and my grandson happened to answer it. He was a bit shocked and came to tell me about his experience. The man was bald with white t-shirts and shorts. No, silly! None of that was out of the usual. Gheesh! No, the man had a side arm strapped to his hip. We have been ordering things since about 2020( and that includes groceries) and never have we had any dasher brandishing a firearm. That did kinda freak us out.

My thought is that having the visual actually makes it safer than someone who would have a "concealed carry" weapon. I wonder how many bad scenarios he has averted by having his "piece" visible?

I can see his point. I read a story about an Uber driver who was shot in a defunct fraud case. You never know who might answer the door.

I would not like that at all. I use DoorDash a lot more than I ever thought I would. I like Safeway the most and that is where I can get pretty decent vegies. I don't know. I might have asked the guy what was up or slammed the door in his face from shock. Do you think you live in a down at heels neighborhood?

We used to have Safeway. Now it is Walmart and Albertson's. We used either Uber or Doordash. I switch off to give them both business. We don't get many decent vegs anymore. I miss them. We live in a normal neighborhood. Not rich but not a really poor area either. My grandson is the one who spoke to him. He's a retired cop and I don't blame him really. I read a story recently where an Uber driver was killed when he took a person to an address and a man there killed the driver by mistake.

@celticeagle albertsons is Safeway now so there should be decent vegies there. I can't use Uber cause I don't have a smartphone.

@sallypup .......The last avocadoes we got had a weird flavor and after examining them closely we saw that something toxic had been pored on them.

that's scary experience,a man with side arm will freak ppl out for sure,Who know what crazy things he will do.That man is very risky.keep far away and take care.

He was a retired cop and I have heard of dasher being killed so I really don't blame him for carrying one.
