Your Familiarity with Baby Yoda

I feel funny about posting this, but I’m doing it anyway. This is Baby Yoda (Grogu is also the name?), and he seems to be very popular in my sister’s household right now. Does anyone (I know April does) like this little guy? I came across a Baby Yoda bracelet, which prompted my discussion. It made me think of when Tickle Me Elmo was all the rage. *For those unfamiliar, he’s from the Star Wars world, recently The Mandalorian, I think. I’m not into Star Wars, so pardon me if he’s in more than that.

Star Wars wasn't my thing. I can relate to the Elmo rage, both Harper as well as Willow love Elmo, him and Ernie are their favorites. We have (our son's) Ernie here, they love playing with it when they come over.

@AmbiePam I gave away his old Cookie Monster and Big Bird stuffies, wish that I had kept them.

@Juliaacv I had a soft spot for the Cookie Monster because I told my mom he was misunderstood. What there was to misunderstand about a cookie fiend I do not know. Sesame Street has such good characters.

He is popular at school, even with the adults. Lots of shirts feature him.

My nieces and nephew usually fight over this Baby Yoda bowl when Popcorn Night comes around. Hudson grabs Annelyn’s mini Afro, but that doesn’t stop her. Meanwhile, while Amyra can outrun them both, she lives on the top floor, so they have a head start.

@GardenGerty The Star Wars film is quite popular here in the Philippines too. I have a lot of friends wearing different merchandise portraying characters from Star Wars like Yoda.

Not really familiar, but maybe have seen it before I am sure a kiddo would like the BY bracelet.

I was never into Star Wars either, but my son was. I’ve seen this Baby Yoda around. It’s adorable. I hope this comment shows up this time.

I am not into Star Wars. My elder daughter is a big fan of Star Wars. So, I am aware of Baby Yoda. He is adorable. My daughter had a coffee mug with Baby Yoda on it.

I'm somewhat familiar with Star Wars, but could not get into the franchise. I think he's been around for quite a few years. Although I don't remember if he was part of the first installments in the 80's and 90's.

As far as Star Wars I grew up with the original trilogy. Not into the new movies.

I haven't seen Star Wars yet, but I've heard the character name, Yoda. By the way, is that a cup? Yoda looks so adorable there.

It’s a bowl, specifically a Ramen noodle “bowl”. At the top, do you see what looks like sticks laying flat? Those are to eat the noodles with (they came with the bowl).

Your comparison to Tickle Me Elmo is spot on—both have created quite a craze! Even those who aren't into Star Wars can't help but be drawn to Grogu. It's amazing how certain characters can become such cultural icons.
