I've noticed it seems pretty easy to find free tablature for guitar online, but what about sheet music? I know how to read sheet music, but tab just confuses me! Anyone know of good sites for free sheet music for guitar? Especially Christmas songs and classical songs? Feel free to post free sheet music sites for other instruments as well!

I find that tabs aren't too hard to understand. However, sometimes it does need to be translated into regular sheet music & then from knowing the correct notes (assuming that the online tabs are correct), go & develop your own way of playing.

I guess technically, I could translate tab into sheet music. I'm just lazy and like it in sheet music to start out with. It took me long enough to learn sheet music, I don't want to confuse myself even more with tab.

Still looking for free sheet music too though. But thanks. :) I used to know of a few free sheet music places, but they don't seem to be around anymore. :( With sheet music, no tab.

Try http://www.pianosheets.org Sheet music can be used as a record of, a guide to, or a means to perform, a piece of music. Although it does not take the place of the sound of a performed work, sheet music can be studied to create a performance and to elucidate aspects of the music that may not be obvious from mere listening. Authoritative musical information about a piece can be gained by studying the written sketches and early versions of compositions that the composer might have retained, as well as the final autograph score and personal markings on proofs and printed scores.

Thanks for your contributions, everybody! It takes such a long time to wade through all the sites. Every little helps!
