Botched wedding on a luxury cruise ocean liner!

Thinking - Thinking what to do!

We were invited to take a 5 day cruise on a luxury liner to attend a wedding. The bride had everything planned. The dress was beautiful, the grooms suit was immaculate. There were also 2 small page boys! The cruise administrators told her not to worry they would provide the flowers. The flowers were awful. She removed 1 stem with a pink bud on and chucked the rest overboard. The captain arrived to conduct the service and guess what, he didnt even put his jacket on. It was really dissapointing. What would you have done if it were you in this position?

i would be upset because of the amount of money i paid for it..if the cost of the wedding included the flowers, then i would ask for some of my money back...but in all..i wouldn't care because as long as i was getting married to the man i love, nothing else really matters.

Yes, they are a very happy couple, and apart from the wedding ceremony, we had great fun. Thanks for response!

Women can become so ungrateful, critical, and selfish on "their" wedding day.

I would of definetly reported it to the travel agent, cruise line and asked for a some kind of refund. You know all that was priced in the package that she paid and for the captain not to even where his very best was rude! I would call and contact anyone associated with the cruise line for some kind of refund. The bride had no choice to go on with the wedding but i definatly would of asked for better or different flowers and told the captain to put his suit on!

I think as a bride you have to arrive to your wedding expecting something to go wrong. If I was the bride I would have spoken to the cruise directors prior to the wedding to find out what kind of flowers I would be given, etc. After the wedding I would have gone back and let the cruise director know that the small details that had been over looked like the jacket and the style of flowers really put a damper on the wedding. Letting them know for the next wedding. I wouldn't expect money back. From the stories I have heard about refunds on a cruise they would probably only give her $5.

in the end, what is impt is that couple make their wedding memorable and lasting. Incidentals are not important. In time, you will not remember the boo-boos that happened during the wedding but the love that keeps the flame of romance lit.

I probably would have laughed. But I would never have been married on a cruise ship. I might have went on a cruise later but the wedding would have been planned and held on my own turf.

Wow... This was after the Ship took off? I know I would have been quite disappointed, and make a Formal complaint and if you had not paid everything, try to get a Lower rate due to your disappointment. I would definately be telling others about my experience if it would have been me, and letting people know they are not a company to want to deal with.

Well, I suppose it's the fact that they got married that would bring the joy out of them, even in less than desirable conditions. However, I'm not sure if I could take my "perfect day" being ruined by anything. I suppose I'd have to be in the situation to have a true honest response, but for the captain not to even put on his jacket seems wrong.
