Question about evolution, intelligence and humans.

There are many creatures on the earth, with a wide range of intelligence levels. Isn't it possible that there are some that exist, that might be more intelligent than humans. If, as some scientists claim, we evolved from cave man, isn't it possible that humans have already evolved beyond what we consider common human beings? Are we the top of the line? Will we evolve any more? We are the only creatures that have the ability to change our environments in order to survive, where as other creatures have evolved in order to adapt to their environments. Is this proof that humans were created by a higher intelligence?
