Do you tell the absolute truth on your profile? I see female avatars for men, and people who are 14, or 86. Everything you see on my profile is true. How about you. If not, what are you trying to hide?I will bet that no one with a misleading profile will even answer.

Yes, I tell the truth on my profile. There's no reason for me to hide my age or gender. Even my avatar is really me...not a picture of someone else. Why someone would want to lie on their profile is beyond me.

Thanks, I like the real photos, too. I do not mind the little green guy, or an obvious drawing. It is the photos of other people that are disappointing. GardenGerty is not my real name.

Yeah - I can understand that. Some just don't have a digital camera or a scanner yet. Hopefully - I can afford one soon.

My profile is true. I don't see any reason not to put the truth. You only put as much information on it as you want so see no reason to lie about it.

I don't undertand why anyone would want to falsify their information. I do, however, understand people omitting details about themselves as there are those who have a deep need for privacy. My info is all true.

By responding to this question you make me to think that I become older again with one more year in 2007.I cant say if is a good age or a bad age but some are calling this age a good one.At this age you are able usually to think more mature than others which are younger, but also you can be in the crisis of this certain age.You have to have a good family and maybe children. As for me at this age I have a family ,a driven license which usually you can afford to have at the age of 18 here in Romania,I have a job but I do not have any children yet.I would like to have and I think is the best age to be already in marriage life. Some says that the best age to be married is around 29 years old but this depends from country to country. If you can guess what age I have it is very good and if not I will tell you that I am 37 and I am thankful to God for what I have and done till this age!May God bless you all even if you are old ,young ,married or not married! So if you can calculate the year of my born you will see that I was born in 1970!

Everything on my profile is true. The only thing that's NOT true is that I that I do not REALLY have a head that's completely sphere-shaped with big eyes, although with some of the topics I have seen on mylot, I do react just like that. The female avatars used by guys - Those are people that I I consider as liars who should be INTENTIONALLY overlook. As far as I feel, they're merely trying to "attract" attention to get responses to their discussions. Thinking more about this, in some non-English speaking countries, there is a possibility that some don't understand the male/female thingie on their profile.

We can make allowances for culture, but I even saw a discussion that said "Attractive female avatars get more responses." I do not mind generic or cartoon avatars, as long as you do not try to fool me into believing it is you. I also enjoy the ones that are obvious seasonal decor--that says something about the user, too. Have a Happy New Year, or whatever Klingons celebrate.

Well, apart from my avatar, everything is true to the best of my knowledge. No, I couldn't honestly say I am an angel, or a child, but I liked the picture and I thought it was very pretty. However, sometimes, and I don't know why, I think maybe I should not have revealed my age, but then again I do like honest people.

You did pick a pretty avatar, love the colors. I think it was okay to reveal your age. We on the mature side have a lot to offer. We also can still learn, that is why we have so much fun here.

I don't really get my some people lie in their profiles, they must be embarrased of who they are, but why? The avatar on my profile is really me is was taken right before my stylist friend put my hair up for a photo shoot, although my hair is not curly it is straight. Also the pictures in my profile is my family, I can't see any reason why I should lie about myself, I'm proud of who I am and I applaud to people who do too.

One of my other friends said that it is how you put yourself forward and become known in this community. It builds your reputation. That is why I go for the truth. I even have a discussion about why I use the screen name I do.

I try to never lie. I am an adult and I can tell the truth and get away with it. I do have things I do not share with others, But am not afaid to tell the truth and say " That is none of your bisiness."( of course in a nice way!) I do not however look like my avitar. I am not as cute as the luv bug, so I put her up in stead. also I do not have many pics of me because I am usually the one with a camera in front of my face! Happy new Year to you and your family.

Everything on my profile is true and I even use my real picture. Of course you can't really see me too well because I'm hugging my dog. The only thing that is not in my profile is my town and state because I haven't figured out how to just put the state and not the town. Not that anyone would come stalk me but you never know.lol

Leaving things out is not lying. I left some things out originally, and added them later, as I learned how, or got comfortable. I know there is a way to do just a state, or you could say something like a county name. Your picture tells me your dog is very important to you. Just not with words.

yes.. whatever information i say is correct.. but i dont tell some of the information because there are more people out here who abuse the internet and post spam. people who are good only stick to their purpose but those who are bad people their purpose it spam and trouble naive users.

Leaving out info is not lying, and you may feel you need to protect yourself. That is also why we can have a screen name if we choose. My real name is not Gerty. Have a good New Year.

There have been a couple who have. One says it is for his safety, the other says he lied about his age to get on. I am not sure--his photo looks older, too. Of course my serial spammer replied as well. I like looking at links, life stories, and good profiles. Thanks for responding.
