what a horrible mom! i mean the guy's a jerk too, but how could a mother do that to her own daughter? i'd dump them both.

Family is the most important thing, even bad family. You can't write off your mother, you can re-evaluate your relationship. Maybe you don't have the kind of mom you trust with men and a bottle of booze. Whatever she's still your mom
