My dog looks very sad most of the time - any clues why?

Or is it that labradors are a very quiet and non-expressive breed? Ofcourse, doggie does get very animated when someone like my mother or ma-in-law come visiting!

Labs seem to take on people's expressions. If he looks sad, he may be sad. Dogs and cats need more affection than most people realize. They have emotions and feelings, and can sense more than humans. Pet and love your dog a bit more, and perhaps you will see a happier face.

That could be it! More love, more affection, more play, but no time. I don't know the answer to that one.

i think you should play with your pet, that makes them happy and cheerfull. Also take him for a walk outside he will become happy.Generally dogs feel happy when they are taken for a walk. Also dont keep your dog tied with chain.Let him run free in balkony or garden.

My dog does need to be tied for a few hours in the morning, but he is free after that. He goes for a walk twice a day. so I don't think that is the reason.

My lab doesn't look sad very often. Sometimes she looks a little bored but never very sad. Maybe if you got your dog one of those great big doggie bones to chew or some other fun and exciting toy it would help? I know my dog loves to play and chew things when allowed. The rest of the day she just sleeps but contently because I am nearby.
